I plan on getting a polyethylene tank. Who should I buy from? I think both Chevy Duty and LMC offer them and probably others. Just trying to save myself some time researching. Yeah, I trust you guys.

Go to http://67-72chevytrucks.com there you will find some site that sell the blazer gas tanks. GMC Paul is a good one to buy from and Mothertrucks, brother's also sells the tanks.

I got mine from MTS Company, L.C.
Very friendly, tank bolted right in, high quality tank...they sell the straps, o-ring, and lock-ring.
The total was $163.85 for everything.

Same as Steve (Burt4x4). Brothers Trucks was the place I received my tank from. The only trouble I had was a leak at the top of the tank when completely filled. The reason for the leak was my dumb ass kinked the o-ring that seals the sending unit to the tank.

while we're on the gas tank thread, has anyone noticed that the gas tanks from 72's are smaller than the one's from a '70...i think it is about 2 gallons.

Mine has the small one too (sucks). 69-70 had 23.5gal and 71-72 had a 21gal. My friends Trooper w/ a 4-banger has a larger gas tank than me! Now I see why Y'all carry jerry cans. If I ever can afford to replace mine I'll go with a 30gal min.

I haven't a clue about the plastic tanks, but some guys say they like 'em. My Blazer has a 40 gallon steel tank in it that leaks when it's full. I need to get the tank out and re-seal the sender...

I'm pretty sure my gas tank in my '72 CST is a 16 gallon - is that totally not true? (I haven't run it out of gas yet - so 15.xxx is the most I've ever put in it

Am I totally full of it?

IGOR, I've never heard of a 16gal tank on a Blazer. Is your tank bent inward?

That's funny. (the bent inward comment) I had the 23.5 until I got the poly...had to get 21 then, nobody makes a 23.5.

hmm... now I'm curious - I'm gonna have to run my rig out of gas now to find out how big my tank is!

Okay - so I ran my Blazer down until I got way too nervous - then drove to the gas station - 17.5 gallons.

I didn't think my buddies would appreciate walking!

Of course I didn't grab a gas can with gas in it to do this testing - just decided to do it when the needle started getting close to E
