I have a 1988 Honda Shadow 1100, Man when the weather is warm all I want to do is ride. Anyone that rides knows what I mean. I've been riding motorcycles or dirt bikes since I was eight years old and my dad was never without a bike. I really can't say anything bad about different brands of bikes because to me as long as they have 2 wheels I would ride any brand, they all acomplish the goal of putting a big ass smile on my face. Well what do you fine people have and tell me why you like them.

I recently sold my 90' XR200 Honda dirt bike. I've also owned an 86' KX 125, an 80? Honda 550 streetbike, and my personal favorite was my 72? Harley 350 Sprint. (Evil Knieval bike). It had the shifter on the left side. I only rode it a few times because it sat in someones garage for 10 years and needed restored. I later sold it for next to nothing because you couldnt get the AMF parts for it:( The guy i sold it to had some "connections", restored it and i believe it is now sitting in a glass case in the Easyriders restaraunt in Columbus Oh.

my hubby is about to buy a '00 Honda Shadow. The 4 speed one. He wants to take me for a ride, but I prefer to be on 4 BIG tires. I might jump on it after staring at it for a while http://www.coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/crazy.gif.

Hey, those GPZ 750 turbos are pretty cool! I have a mechanic friend who was selling his for $2500, great condition body and engine.
I have a 1983 GPZ1100 (DFI) - was tuned for cicle track use, is a scream. I still laugh when I change the oil and the safety wire holes are drilled there - lol.
I used to have a 1980 Kawasaki SR650. Basically a KZ650 with a fatter rear tire and all black. I took off the wierd windshield someone had put on. If I had kept it longer I would have liked to have put on clip-ons and made a small cafe racer out of it. Unfortunantely, a guy in an s10 decided to turn right in front of me and, when he saw me, stopped in the middle of the road with nowhere for me to go except into him.
Anyone else got bikes?

Jesters72, Now I am jealous I have always wanted a Norton Commando missed a hell of an opportunity when I was 15 to buy one for 300$ that didn't run but was in great shape I've been kicking my own ass for 14 years now. everyboby else you all have great bikes and a few I'd like to take a spin on myself like that kickass Triumph. Come on who else has a bike don't be shy.

hey i'm looking at buying a cruiser bike probably this fall and was leaning toward the shadow. What's the diff between the shadow1100 type and the shadow spirit? I've heard lots of good things about the spirit, but the regular shadow is so plentiful around here, you can pick one up in awesome shape for about $3500 all the time. Any insight?

Nick said the spirit is a lot nicer! The big difference is it's a 5spd and not a 4spd which makes it nicer on the highway. It also has a bigger tank and just looks better. We bought it new for 6K.

Just picked this up last week:

http://www.yamaha-motor.com/01motorsports/01mcy/01_mcy_images/500/01yzf600_blu_1_500.jpg
It's a YZF600R and its pretty comfy compared to my old FZR. Wife still has her FZR so we can now go riding toghether again.

Okay, now you guys have made me think about all the bikes I've owned through the years. Let's see if I can remember them all.

1975 BMW r/75
1981 Honda CB900F
1982 Suzuki GS850S
1978 Moto Guzzi Eldorado 850
1985 Yamaha Virago 920
1979 Harley FLH/Shovel
Various dirt bikes

The Harley is the one I got hit on. I was more worried about the bike than myself at the time.

Now I have the awful job of renting Harleys. We get 10 new ones every year and we have to break them in before we can add them to the rental fleet. So I don't own one now, I just ride what we have in the fleet. Nothing older than 2000. If you guys have any questions about Harleys, feel free to ask. I get to ride just about everything the company puts out. Please, keep the aplause down. :)

As always, safe cruisin'.

Steve

The 600 has plenty of power for me. I'll never ride it to the limits of the bike. Even with my FZR600, I was always happy and could easily take any viper/vette. The larger CC's are nice but insurance likes to charge more for those. I basically wanted something that looks sporty and comfortable to ride. If I wanted something fast and wicked and didn't care about long rides, I would of got the GSXR or the 929RR or the R1. One bike I did come close to getting is Yamahas new FZ1 which is basically a R1 without the fairings and it's much more comfortable.
