I once owned a 1966 SS-396 Chevelle Super Sport...yellow with a black interior. When I bought it, it only had 23,000 miles on it. That was one great car and I should have never sold it.

I had a 69 SS , needed money, had to sell it, youknow the story. Give me another year and I'll have another one. GM performance is selling that all aluminum 427 ZL-1. To many dreams not enough cash.

Gotta dig the '67s (the ones w/a slight fin off the b-pillers, right?) Some reason i got a thing for cars w/good b-piller lines like camaros, Chevells even Dodge chalangers and the like.
Maddog, are sure on the ZL-1 thing? Gotta GMPP number?

I think we all sell vehicles we regret getting rid of. Mine was my 69 Chevelle when I broke the camshaft in 2 places and floated 2 lifters.. that hurt..
If I had held onto it.. another 200 bucks to fix it.. it would have been good to go.
But Trucks have become my new fetish.... not sure if I'd want a car again...

My father has a 66 396 BB. He told me one day that he had almost $ 18,000 in to it. I blew me away. It looks and sure does sound like it but damn. That was also over of about 5-6 years.

My father had a 66 Malibu 283sb Metalic blue/ Black int, 27,000 miles. My mom talked him into trading it in on a brand new 81' Chevette. I remember( i was 7) i begged my dad not to get rid of it for the Chevette. I wanted that car to be mine when i was old enough to drive. A few days later my dad realized his mistake and went back to the dealer to buy it back, but it was gone:( I have been looking for another 66' since i was 14.

Last week i stopped to look at a 66 SS, but the guy wanted $8500 for it. It wasnt even worth $1000.

When i was 15 i found a 65 with a new 350 sbc for $900. But my parents wouldnt let me get it.The irony is, my first car turned out to be a 85? Chevette:( Needless to say i didnt keep it long.

My dad had also owned 5- 60's Mustangs, a 63 Impala, one of those 60's Ford minivans ( kinda cool), and of course the 66 Malibu.Later...

My dad used to have a 72 Malibu. 350/350 and everything. He sold it when I was about 6. I still remember it, though. We were trying to sell our Vista Cruiser and these Puerto Ricans came over that didn't speak much English. They wanted to buy the Malibu and my parents needed the money, so they sold it. My dad still regrets it. He regrets selling every car he's ever owned! Let's see....54 Ford, 56 Bel-air, 64 GTO, 68 Mustang, 72 Dodge Phoenix(ever seen one of these?!!!), and the 72 Malibu.

The only car's I remember my Dad had... were...
66 Chevelle SS... I was brought home in that car... some strange reason.. I remember it vividly... guess my dad's intentions were to start me out at an early age...
2nd.. was a 68 Chevelle station wagon.. My dad put a SS hood on it, 15x8 Corvette rally wheels and a 4 speed in it..
Man... that wagon rocked !!! total sleeper...
Oh.. and he put the ss grille on the station wagon... lol

My first car was a 72. That thing still sits up at my parents house. My father and I made a deal that we can only sell it to each other, so we pretty well trade it back and forth for money all the time.

Dark forest green, white vinyl top, Chrome reverse rims with baby moon hubcaps. A HOT 350/350 combo. Thing is a LOT of fun to drive. As soon as the Blazer is back on the road, it will prb. take up residence in the garage to undergo another rebuild.

I had a 74 Chevelle Laguna S-3, 400 small block, 400 turbo, 307 rear end. Talk about high speed. Black with red pinstripes, swivel buckeets. Didnt look so good after some bouts with trees and delineator posts. Took the motor and tranny out and put in my first blazer.
