My 79' TA's speedo cable is broke from the cruise control box to the tranny.(The inside cable is the only thing broke)Anyone ever used the "HELP" repair kit? I'm gonna try it this weekend, but the kit looks like a piece of junk.:(

You said it...Junk. For all the effort might as well just get the whole ball of wax... cable and housing... easier IMO.

Grrr. thats what i thought. I'm gonna try and find a cable from a car without cruise control and replace it from the dash to the tranny. I would think that one would work from any full size GM 70's - 80's car. The only thing left to the cruise control is the "box" anyway.

See if there's a listing in your Yellow Pages under "Speedometer". Those shops have the tools and materials to make any speedo cable that you want. The prices are usually reasonable as well.

I pulled one from 78' Lesabre? It worked for about 10 min. I think the PoS cruise control box is bad, gonna pull one of those this weekend.

Ames Performace Engineering http://www.amesperf.com has a universal cable kit that includes the cable (you cut to length) with one end already crimped on and the other end that oyu crimp on. I haven't used it myself, but I've heard that it's pretty good.
