Oh man, aren't those Superbirds worth $50K+?? Jeez, I hate seeing stuff like that. Saddest part is, you could go up to a lot of those owners and make an offer and for whatever reason they'll refuse...

It's a shame to see stuff like that. I know of a couple of rare cars that the owner's will not part with. One is a 69 440 6-Pack Roadrunner and when I saw it last (abt. 10 years ago) it was sunk in the ground up to the floorboards.

A lot times folks like that have heard that someone just sold "Car X" for mumblety-thousands of dollars. So they think that their rusted out, bald-tired, non-running "Car X" that doesn't have half of the original parts that make "Car X" so valuable in the first place, is worth that same mumblety-thousands of dollars.

It never dawns on them that the one that sold for that price was a totally mint condition, completely original car that was put into storage with maybe 5,000 miles on the odometer and probably had some extremely rare factory option. So they keep hanging onto theirs, thinking that it's their own personal lottery ticket. Meanwhile, it's condition just continues to get worse over the years. http://www.coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/frown.gif It just never dawns on them why no one will pay what they erroneously think it should be worth.

:( OK, i looked again. Man! I wish i could trust my Burb for the trip to NM from OH to pick up my bosses 69 r/t Charger 440 Mag Blue with white top. He sold his 69 Runner for $34,000. SITE UNSEEN! To a guy in CA.

This is possibly the most depressing site i have looked at.

The sad thing is...... That site seems to get updated every week with more pics:( Gotta go wipe my eyes now.... Later.

Hey all
I seen that at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.chevytalk.com>http://www.chevytalk.com</A>
Except it was the Bowtie version.
When I lived in FL I saw this 73 T/A in a feild .
This was 1997 and it had 1980 tags on it.
I talked to the guy and he was the original owner. His wife ran it over a curb and ripped a hole in the oil pan. He parked it in his feild and that was where it sat for 17 years.
He sold it to me for $400.
It had a 428 out of a Limo a 4 speed tranny and 3:73 rear posi.
I had to pressure wash the mildew off the body and the interier was guted to get rid of the smell.
I started to restore it and gave that up right away.
The only piece of metal that didn't need to be replaced was a portion of the roof.
I drove it for a few months and then parted it out.
I got about $1500 doing that.
See ya

my truck's not dirty, it's earth tone paint

Hey Blaze, There is a link off of the carsinbarns website that has TA's and Firebirds. I think its called "other rotting American muscle , Pontiac". Check it out . They would Sh!T over what you found. There is also some good restored and original pics of TA's and Firebirds.
