Well, where to begin, I am a broke Okie, I have built my rig by swapping for parts and scraping extra pennies together. I am trying to pay for my wife to finish college, make 2 car payments, pay off some bills from my younger days and buy a house with a shop. I need fuel injection, so my buddies don't have to sit and wait for me when my rig stalls because of the carb and the started is overheated, so it won't start /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif. I have an awesome rig that would go anyhwere I wanted, but right now I have to decide if my carb will let me go over an obstacle before attempting it. My friends are also tired of their eyes burning from the fumes when my carb starts loading up and rolling black fuel smoke making everyone stop and laugh at me /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif.

BTW, my rig is sitting in the yard with no way to deliver fuel, I got 1/2 way through my swap and ran out of money. I have everything installed, I just need a chip and harness to have my blazer runnning again for the winter.

i need TBI so when people hear the rumble of my 8.4 liter motor, and see the badass truck.... i dont look like a tool trying to climb the curbs at the mall... in all actuality, i need it because i have 200$ to my name, dont have a carb for my motor yet, and have to be done by christmas, so this would help greatly with my caddy motor project! Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

i need that not for myself, but for my brother i talked my dad into letting him buy an 85GMC 3/4 ton /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif (2,600$) which led to a 1,500$ engine rebuild and discovery of a nasty crack in the frame only two weeks after getting the truck, now it won't run again after only having it back for a week /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif and on now it's 3rd carb in only 3 weeks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. so it would be more of a present for the 16 year old little bro that for me i'm lucky enough to have TBI already in the 87 /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I used to think that fuel injection was something I could live without until I went to Moab this year. Now I have realized that it is and essential part of an offroad vehicle. I will have to go fuel injection 1 way or the other before next years Blazer Bash so this would sure help me get there a little easier. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Thanks for the chance either way though /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Im Jason, I need the TBI Harness and Chip because, I'm a starving college student that somehow thinks he can build a trophy truck out of his blazer, and a competition tube buggy out of his samurai thats getting a SBC. While I dont have any time anymore it seems like to work on my trucks, a TBI harness would make it much much easier to put a SBC into my samurai. Then I wouldn't have to worry about everyone beating me up the sand dunes when we go play in the sand. /forums/images/graemlins/pimp.gif

I need TBI cause all the damn Jeeps I run with have it. And it sucks when going up an inclince and you stall and roll backwards uncontrollable. And those damn Jeeps just go right on up and over.

I need fuel injection because I'm getting tired of carburetors. I can't seem to get the things tuned in just right. Also living in Colorado I drive from an elevation of 5000ft to 11000ft anytime I wheel. It sure would be nice to have a system that effeciently ran the motor at the different elevations.
But basically I'm tired of tinkering with carburetors trying to get them running good. I feel like I'm not realizing to full potential of my engine. Now that it is cold, the poor tuning is now even more apparent.
I like the idea of this DIY kit, because I like doing things myself. It will help me have a better understanding of how the system really works. We have a local u-pull-it yard with very reasonable prices so I'll have no problem getting the rest of the stuff I need for the swap.
Also I like to display stickers for the products installed on my truck. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif They are on the side windows.
Thanks for the opportunity to win an excellent item. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Well, I have a 391 stroker with 400hp in my truck and like to run extreme trails, play in the mud and drive it on the street as well. It is really hard to get a carb to perform well in all of these situations. I just can seem to get enough money saved to go fuel injection yet. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

i need to prove to my friends that it is posible to run TBI on a modified engine and have it run better than any carb at any angle. they think (as i used to) that if you modify an engine in any way, then its required that you go with a carb. i also want the benifits of FI, my carb gives me lots of fits on cold mornings.

i have a new reason, the fast idle cam for the choke stuck and it was running at 2000-5000rpm, it was undriveable. the bad part was i was in the woods on a trail. ive had this problem a few times where the fast idle won't disenguage, but not this bad. i took the choke off and didn't have a problem. now i can barely start my truck, its too cold here. if i had FI i could start it and not have the choke problem i had, and not have to worry about the problems i had.

I need FI because of a no-power-brakes backwards downhill descent off a failed hill climb at the Capital City Crawlers Fall Crawl in my '72 Blazer wich ended suddenly when a very large rock put a sizeable dent and crack in the 2x4" box tube rear bumper and sheared the mounting bolts holding it on. No injuries except to the truck and my pride, but it could have been worse.

I need Fuel injection so I can give it to a Disabled Vietnam Vet who is a friend of mine. He has a '48 Chevy COE Rat Rod Project that would be great to add FI too. It has a rebuilt 350, TH400 in it now. But being disabled his project is always a little behind do to a low cash flow. His truck is also in dire need of a new wiring harness and adding FI at the same time would certainly make a great addition /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

<font color="orange"> /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif First off thanks for this opportunity thats just awesome. Second I would want this, to give to my brother who has been a mechanic all his life but has recently been opertated on his shoulder for the second time to fix it. He injured it while on the job. Here is the example of the type of person he is. Living on a farm, equipment goes down occasionally, and when this happens and I am up to the task of fixing it but cannot figure it out, I call my brother, and 9 times out of 10 he can tell me how to fix the problem over the phone, which to me is truly amazing. The reason I would give him this harness would be to thank him and also because he has a project that he has started that will have a tbi engine in it which he will need the harness for. Also his project is a 72 jimmy that he is going to turn into a shorty pickup which will be different and kinda cool. Anyways thanks again for this opportunity.

Well, I am going to start college next year, and since my parents aren't the richest people in the world I have to pay for some of my college. The only vehicle I have is a 1982 blazer that my dad and I built. The k5 is pretty built and it gets like 8 miles to the gallon, maybe. I would like to convert to TBI for a couple of reasons. First, I need to make my blazer a little more fuel effincient, and still be able to pay for my first semester tuition. Though I do have a job, If I cant come up with the money for school and the neccesitys for it my parents are going to make sell my K5 that I put a lot of work, sweat, and money into, and buy a toyota. I really dont want to sell my K5 and a TBI harness and chip will get my TBI project underway for somewhat better fuel economy. Second I love building trucks and engines, and the only time my dad and I have a chance to really do something together is when we build up a truck or do some project for one, and the TBI set up would be a great thing for my dad and me to put on the blazer. Thanks for the chance to win.

OK...
I'm building this project rig I call "Fugly". It's a 87C10 cab and motor (305) on a K5 frame.
I have a TBI 305... cab... all the stuff to do it. In fact, I had the thing all tarped up ready to go as of like August this year.
Well... sometime between August and Thanksgiving Break a tree rat (squirrel) decides to take up residence ON TOP OF MY MOTOR. It decides that those nifty things I call wires were in his way so he CHEWED THEM INTO ITSY BITSY PIECES. At first I blamed it on my Dad because I figured he needed the wires for something else. The squirrel chewed a vacuum line and the purge line that goes to the vapor canister as well but that's no big deal. He even tried chewing off the top of the water neck.
I figured this was nature's cruel way of telling me that the 35° descent my Quadrajet runs out of fuel on is all I'll ever experience. Well, I don't listen to anyone trying to throw a wrench into my plans let alone nature so I planned on spending several hours splicing in and shrink tubing new wires to the TPS, MAP, alternator, et cetera but having a brand spanking new harness would save me quite a bit of time and look a LOT better.
And on top of it, I could run different injectors AND swap in a new cam because of the chip you guys are including.

I would like the fuel injection wiring harness simply cause my truck won't run upside down. I think it would make a good addition to my M1009 build up. Thanks, Klink K5

Y I need fule injeksion:
I b a po farm boy from masachewsets. I plow fo many elderly folks an some of the driveways are on hillsides. I hav stalled an almost hit several parkt vehikles and many woodland animals wile sliding down embankments with no brakes or steering do to loss of engin power. I kuld reelly yoos fuel injeksion on my rig.
Sinseerly,
Bubba!
On a serious note: I live in the Northeast and do a lot of plowing for friends, family, and the elderly. Some of them live in "East Oshkosh" in the woods on steep driveways. Driving up and down them is not a problem, but when plowing (bumping and jarring along with slow speed manuevers) I have flooded out on several occasions. It's not too bad when the plow is up and I can coast downhill to a flat spot, but if I'm at a weird angle or the plow is down I get screwed. I have to wait for a tow truck ($$$$$) or one of my buddies (and even they have a hard time trying to pull me out of a snowbank as they aren't on the best traction surface, and they have the added drag of snow and plow holding me/them back).
I have managed to make do, but I work 45+ hours a week and plow "on the side", so getting stuck for several hours is a big deal when I put in an average of 10-15 hours per storm (on top of my regular job). Working that much most people think I'm rolling in the dough, but I'm in debt up to my eyeballs. I would like a newer truck with fuel injection but can't afford, so I have a 78 K10 and an 80 K20 (both carbed) to work with. Fuel injection would make my life so much easier (not to metion it would probably help with the pocket book).
If somebody needs it to get their kids around or life and death situations I would rather they have it, but if not, I would like to throw my name in the hat.
Thanks,
Chris

Here's why I'd love this set up.
I would love this setup so I can convert my carbed 350 to something a little more useful. See, ya'll, I'm a poor sum-mum-a-bitch, due most in part to the fact that I'm in the Navy, and we don't get paid very much. But I love 'wheeling. Earlier this year, I bought my first 4x4 ('86 Chevy) without very much knowledge. After I became educated through 'boards like Pirate, CK5, BTF, Planet4x4, and others, I learned that I had a turd. So I started tearing it apart, thinking that I could simply replace what was inferior on it, and start down the road toward a long life of happy GM 'wheeling. But the farther I tore into the truck, the more I found wrong. In short, the truck has now been completely dismantled. I spent $2500 for the truck, some $3000+ more on various crap that that I can't use 'cause I have no truck to use 'em on, AND I'm having to sell stuff off just to pay bills each month. But the story gets better....
Like I said, I'm in the Navy - have been for 5 years now. I spent 8 months of last year in Iraq, came back and was rewarded with shore duty, so I'm here in Pensacola. I've always wanted to own a house, so I took what I had in savings and set out to locate a house I liked. The 2004 year started off a little crappy, when I had a transmission shop do a rebuild on my NV3500 in my DD. They convinced me that it was cheaper to rebuild then replace with a reman'd, so went that route - to the tune of $1600. One of the things they replaced was the yoke, and this is when I learned there are two different types of yokes: vented, and non-vented. they replaced my non-vented with a vented, and 100 miles after the rebuild, my tranny was dry, and I had fluid flung all up under my truck. Now here is it 11 months later, I'm outta the 12,000mile/12mo. warranty the company gave me, and I need a new tranny (very, very bad rebuild:mad: ). a reman'd will set me abck $1300, but that's $1300 I don't have. Things were going well until the first of July - after that, it all went to hell. I foiund a house I liked, and bid a contract on it, and I won. Now, I closed on my house July 1, and the very next day (while visiting with a friend up in GA) my '94 Sierra was broken into, stereo stolen, 250+ CD's stolen, personal papers, military access badge, and various other items were all stolen. Windows in my truck were smashed, paint was goudged, and my drivers side door skin was nearly totally peeled away. So I had to drive back down here with the truck like that, and wouldn't you know it, it rained. Then I had my first roommate in the house, and in the six weeks that he did live there, he only paid rent once, and never paid utilities. I am a nice guy, so in return for lienency for his money troubles, I get screwed over. Then I notice that one of my credit cards has been stolen and is maxed out. I strongly suspect it was him, so I kick him out on the spot. So I'm left with a maxed out credit card, no rent or utilities from this guy, and bills I can't pay. Then a few days later, I lose my wallet riding around in my friends Jeep with no doors on. Shortly thereafter, hurricane Ivan comes through, and messes up my house. Insurance isn't very helpful (you have to keep in mind that they don't make money by giving it away ), and the insurance check that I get from them is barely enough to cover the replacement cost of the covered patio I lost. I can go back for more cash once I have reciepts stating what it ACTUALLY cost me, but that won't be for a while - clean up and rebuilding after a hurricane takes a while, and I'm not about to have some fly-by-night contractor come in and do work on my house, then skip town. So in order to have a local company fix my house, roof, fence, and yard, I have to wait. And I've been waiting. It'll be sometime well into the New Year that I'll get anything done. Speaking of those fly-by-night contractors, I strongly suspect one of 'em is responsible for stealing my 16ft. car hauler trailer that was in my side yard. I woke up one morning to go to work, look over to where my trailer is supposed to be, and it's not there. Here's where insurance shoves the dildo even farther up my ass: they won't cover the loss of the trailer, as it's not under my Personal Property umbrella for my homeowners insurance (I love AllState). They said I needed a seperate policy for it. So I'm out a trailer, and the money for one. Now, I've got a project - hell, it's not even a project, it's a pile of parts - that just sits in my garage, no money to do anything to it, and barely enough money to keep my head above water every month.
Why do I need your set up? 'Cause it's only "Parts to Buy" list, and that'll be one less thing I'll have to buy. 'Preciate the chance, bro....

But I have a 84 Blazer with a new 454 BB, Edelbrock intake manifold, and a rotten Rochester carbuertor. I knew she would be a fixer-upper when I bought her, but not to this extent. I think the seller took off the Edelbrock carb.
I am learning much. The carburetor has no fast idle, no vacuum, no nothing. Many ports are plugged. Mileage is terrible. She's hard to start. I now believe it would be better to install fuel injection, than a new Holley or Edelbrock carb.
I'm sixteen, and enjoy working on my own vehicle, my first.
Thanks for the offer, whoever wins.
Merry Christmas.

Thanks,
Chris Here's the winner of Affordable Fuel Injection Christmas present! Wiring harness with chip giveaway!
Congratulations to Leadfoot !
