Those are looking bad ass Joe. I really like the countersunk allens, nice and flush. :thumb:
I will wait for our deal to come around someday.

~Update~
I discovered some issues with the countersunk bolts today. I'm going to have to remove them as an option for a week or so till I can get the issue solved. The buttonhead bolts are still an option though. If you want to wait for the countersunk option, you can still place your order...So order up! :D

So what kind of issues do they have with the countersunk Allens? The only thing i was thinking is that you can't get a lock washer in there. Maybe a star washer.

Not that....
Since the countersunk hole centers the tapered bolt perfectly in the hole in the ring, like a lugnut centers a rim using the countersunk hole in the rim, all of the holes in the ring need to be perfect in relation to the center of the holes in the housing. I had just used an old stock cover and a transfer punch to transfer the hole pattern over to a ring that I am using as a "master part/template". I drill the holes in the ring a bit bigger than the diameter of the bolts, which allows for alittle misalignment of the bolt holes. That works fine with conventional bolts, but not with the countersunk ones. When I tried to bolt a cover to my test housing using the countersunk bolts, about half of them bolted down on center, the other half did not, because my template was not perfect. I have to wait till my new order of rings shows up on Friday, then I can figure out a way to make an exact, perfect template of the bolt pattern. I think I might just take a gasket or maybe even the entire housing to a machine shop and have them make something up for me. I tried using a gasket to lay it out myself, but it just didn't really work out...the gasket was so floppy that I couldn't get it to lay perfectly flat and in the same position while I marked the holes, also the gasket isn't thick enough to allow the use of a transfer punch. lol, So far it's been one little stupid issue like this after another, over and over. I sure hope all the little kinks work themselves out, I don't think I can deal with anymore. :)
Any plans for making some for us round cover guys?

Round cover? You mean for the 10b? If so, then yes, plans are there...It'll prolly be awhile though. I have to get all these little issues worked out with the 14b and D60 covers first.
If you weren't refering to the 10b....I'm not sure what ya meant..:)
Yes, primarily the 10b, i know i could use a good front cover, and if you plan on eventually doing them, ill wait for one of yours.

Can you ship them to Sweden
UPS or something and if you can can you check how much it would cost.
If the shipping works I would like one for my d60 and one for my 14bff

I can usually get them done with just a gasket and a factory cover.....but I'll proll end up picking up an old housing for test fitting. Is a 10b front the same as a 10b rear as far as the covers go?

I believe the front and rear 10 bolts have slightly different covers. Front cover also uses a fill hole while the rear doesn't.

Just got mine; bit of a delay as I caught Joe in the middle of a bunch of things, but wow, it's worth the wait! :woot:
The new bungs, btw, are SWEET ... there's enough thread engagement there I could tow the thing by the fill-plug in a pinch :eek1: ... and the counter-sunk bolts are just sexy. (Fat Bastard: "I'm dead sexy!")
:saweet:
off to the play with my truck... :D

Dude ,
those covers ROCK !!!
I would love to see them with more art on them ....like skull and cross bones or maybe a maltize cross ...or a ck5 logo ..
You can cut those with a pattern cutter ,they can use flame or plasma...
pss love your welds ..!!!!!

Hey thanks for the good words d00ds. :) Feels great to know ya'all are liking what I'm building. :D
Dremu was right in saying that he caught me in the middle of a bunch of "stuff". For the last few months, I've been getting my rig ready for it's first run in over two years, going on the run, fixing stuff from the run, getting ready to move to a nice new 2000sq ft shop. I've been getting cramped working in my gramps barn....it's hard for me to be productive working in a little gnome hut. I move into the new shop on June 1st. Also have a new gf...we all know that the first few months of a relationship are taxing on truck and fab time. :D I've been busy and hella distracted lately.
For the guys lookin for 60 and 10 bolt covers, please be patient with me. My truck has been put to bed for a few weeks under it's tarp so I can concentrate on the buisness end of things. This week I'm going to start workin on a design for 60 covers. Should have something to show you guys by the weekend. I'm going to try to work some time in this week to get a few 14b covers done so ya'all don't have to wait 3 weeks like Dremu did- Thanks again for bein patient brother!
i8yrsuv- The idea for some kind of logo/art has been suggested to me a few times...One of those "Duh...Why didn't I think of that" things. I've been trying to think of something thats looks cool, is orginal and simple. It's definatley something on my mind and in the works for sure.
One thing that might change soon on atleast the 14b covers is that I might be having some of the pieces of the cover bent on a brake for me. So instead of the cover being contructed of 10 individual pieces of plate and welded together, it'll be maybe 4 pieces. It'll still be the same basic shape, just not so many welded seems. It would cut down ALOT on my fab time, and make for a smoother and cleaner looking diff cover.
Can you guys maybe give me some input on how a ram mount should be? Sizes, dimensions etc? Or maybe a picture or drawing of how you guys would like them to be. I've never held a ram in my hands or even seen one of these setups in person, so I'm not real sure how they should be. I could design one for a system on my truck......However, I'm going right too the full hydro with a double ended ram. So you guys tell me how ya want it, and I'll build it. :D
Thanks!

Did using the gasket get the holes close enough to use the countersunk bolts?
One way I like to transfer bolt patterns is to thread in some set screws with points ground on the ends. Then just lay the plate over them and beat on it with a hammer/mallet to transfer the pattern. It works best if you can get at the back side of the threaded hole because you can use an Allen wrench to 'pull' the set screws all the way in but you can still do it on a blind hole just turning the things in as far as you can by hand....
...I've never had much luck with tranfer punches because no matter how many you have you won't have one the right size

The gasket just didn't work. It's too "floppy". Doesn't matter how carfully you position a gasket for layout, one or more of the holes could be slightly out of wack because the gasket moves around so much. With conventional bolts, it's simple enough to deal with one or two out of alighment holes. The counter sunk bolts require that ALL of the holes be almost perfect. To difficult with a gasket or something thin like a gasket. If a gasket or a stock cover were thick enough to work with a transfer punch, then I wouldn't be having these problems. I suppose if I had a nice CNC laser machine, I wouldn't be having these problems either.
As far as transfer punches go- I have a nice 20pc set of them. I'vegot more than I need. :D
Thanks for refreshing my mind about the set screw method. I remember using that exact same procedure in my old job once. I had to make a new fixture for one of the robo welders we had. The holes in the mounting plate on the robo machine were fixed. I needed to transfer the hole pattern to the material I was working with...I used bolts that I turned to points on the lathe, same as you describe. It worked perfectly. I had forgoten about it....Might have to try that with these things. :cool1:
Anyways, lets see some orders coming in!! Gotta pay for my new doubler...

I am interested in your diff covers but have been unable to open any of the file attachments that show pictures of what you are offering. Assuming I ordered one from you within the next week or so - could you get one coming within a day or two from when I order? Also, I am interested in feedback from anyone who is using one of your covers.
Thanks,
