As of 11:00 edt Hurricane Dennis = Cat 2 w/ 105 mph winds (125 gusts). It's only going to get strong in the warm gulf waters, I think this one is gonna leave a mark. :doah:
It's still a long way out and anything could happen but right now 3 out of 5 computer models on a local weather site show a direct hit for P'cola. :(

I put this out in the Lounge, but I'm gonna say it again....
....I'm really starting to hate living here. I pray Dennis goes elsewhere - I'm still not done fixing shiat from Ivan last year, and I'm only just now starting to get spare money for the trucks again. If I take on more damage again, I'm gonna faawking !!SCREAM!! and possibly go postal. I just hope and pray this strom either doesn't amount to much more then a soft Cat. 1, or it goes somewhere else....the thought if having to go through all the bullshiat of the power being out for 8 days, the insurance jerking me around, the contractors flooding the town and stealing your stuff - well, the thought just makes me feel sick. I'm tired of this crap.
Mother Nature is a biatch. Faawk her.
I really hate living here now.

Well , it's official that we are screwed !!!! That guy from the Weather Channel ( Jim Cantori ) is at Pensacola Beach and he only shows up at the places where the trouble and action is going to be at .........
Better plan on Dennis heading this way and get ready for another beating - but I still love living here !

Jim Cantori ain't he da man! That guys cool. Hang on down there guys. My old man is in FL working. I'll just sit up here in SC and count the funnel clouds that drop from the east side of the storm. On another note my peppers and and maters could use a good rain.

If you all need a place to go, let me know and I can get you one up around the Montgomery area. hate to see people stay if they don't want to.

Looks like P'cola it is. Hurricane season really sucks. I am lucky to be on the fringe ofthe action. We are far enough inshore to be out of harm's way most of the time.
If Dennis takes a dump on you guys and you need anything (supplies or stuff) that you can't get there, I may be able to make a run down. we rarely see shortages (or super high prices) here.

That's good to know I already saw diesel for 2.57 this morning. Some stations are already out of gas here in P-cola. If it is not bolted down strap it down and hold on.
I know from being close that things like wood, supplies, batteries and fuel become scarce quick. Or become very, very expensive.

I didn't realize that the Lord was that serious about wheeling .......
I was just thinking about how nice it would be to drive a fully capable Blazer instead of a truck that I don't want scratched after the hurricane.
I supose if it would save the good folks thta live along the cost line I could get a little work done on the Blazer . :haha:
I fixen to go out and fill up all the spare fuel tanks and top off the truck before all the local fuel supply is gone.
Jim Cantore is still here so I guess it is time to get ready for a little wind and rain.

Gas here made an .11 cent jump overnight :surepal:  this morning the lines were starting.
Knock on wood, we just made a big WallyWorld trip a couple of days ago but the wife is going to grab a few more things today.
It's going to be a mad house around here this weekend. :doah:
The insurance company has obviously not seen your 'Burb. :D

They have seen it when it was lifted 8" on 36" tsl. They don't know its on 44"s now. The 91 blazer I had someone slashed one of the 44" boggers & I had to take them the tire because they wanted to see what a $450 tire looked like.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 135 MPH...215
KM/HR...WITH HIGHER GUSTS. ALTHOUGH DENNIS IS STILL A CATEGORY 4
HURRICANE ON THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON SCALE...SOME ADDITIONAL WEAKENING
IS FORECAST AS DENNIS MOVES OVER CUBA

Well , the last forcast that the Weather Channel put out said Dennis just might strengthen back up to catagory four by the time it makes land fall with a 14'~17' storm surge.
I guess what is left of the I-10 bridge over Escambia Bay ain't gonna hold up so well to that abuse .
I expect the power to go out by morning so good luck fella's !

We finally have power this morning!! My brother and I sat on the back porch during most of the storm. Lost a pine tree and some fencing, and all my temporary roof repairs withstood the wind. NO LEAKS.
Got some pice of other happenings

Glad Ya'll made it through O.K. !
It got pretty nasty over in these parts but the end result is nothing like Ivan's damage .
The power has just been restored in my neighborhood and that means I WILL HAVE AIR CONDITIONING TONIGHT !!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
I tell Ya' , I have no idea how folks lived in the south before there was A/C - I must be soft because trying to sleep in a pool of sweat just plain sucks .....

Looking at your pic of that cube Van made me think of my Blazer durring the storm.
I had moved it out of the garage so that I could put the Dodge inside and away from the wind/debri - well , I chauk'd (sp) the tires to keep it from rolling down the driveway ( Blazer has no motor/tranny or drive lines in it and no parking brake hooked up yet ) I looked out the window durring the real gusty part of the storm and my Blazer was rocking form side to side and being pushed up off of the chauks towards the garage UP HILL !
