I hope everyone coastal is getting out of harms way. I'm 70miles as the crow flies north of the gulf as the crow flies and may still get out if it gets much worse and starts steering a more direct hit.
Whats your plans???

We're staying put.
Ivan and Dennis just took shingles and trees, it can't get too much worse than what Ivan was.
The hotels are jacking prices up to the North and East anyway.
Sending the kids and wife north. The 'Burb has $90 worth gas. The propane tanks are full. Lots of ice. If it gets bad or you guys need anything, my cell phone # is 225-803-2188.

i'm still bunkered in but each minute i'm on the verge of rolling a little more north. ltalessi is 30miles more north of here and has a diesel genset 3kw more like 5k or more and about 100 gal of diesel along with the duece and a half and m715
the gas satations in central BR are running out of gas, smaller cities outside are already out, walmarts are out of water, ice and canned goods.....

Good luck man. Use your tie down straps to secure yourself to something.....better yet, go to Texas
What they are not out of is angry, panicked people. The dogs and I are here for the duration. Should not be too bad - 20-40mph winds for 6-12 hours and lots of rain. thank goodness for the Burb - I will still be able to get around.
Wife and kids went north yesterday so I provisioned with beer and hot dogs. :D

I just got back to Fairhope at work from Florida and am heading home to Mobile in a few. I haven't heard from anyone else yet. At a rest stop some fat azz woman opened her door and the wind caught and banged the side of my new 05 mustang & chipped the paint :angry1: The only thing she said was sorry

I just got off of the phone with Chad (CBBR). He said that he and his family were fine. Of course they're out of power but he sounded in good spirits.
So now has anyone heard from nverenuff?

I have been trying to get in touch with "Kim Tate" he is in Slidell just north of New Orleans. We got ALOT of rain and alittle wind.
Has anyone talked to nvrenuf? I tried to call his cell, but just got a message saying that number was not available.
Ratzilla, did you make it home?
All is well here. More later

update: I'm fine as is the family we were spared greatly. Many trees down, i have power and cable back. Many of my friends and some CK5 members from the NOLA area are much less fortunate. Many of their homes NEVER flooded, never bought flood insurance and now they are homeless, have whatever little bit they have in their trunk. They also have no jobs or source of income, many have their whole family on both sides in that same situation. BatonRouge is being infiltrated with people who are homeless and those wanting to go home and are stranded, some things are becomeing quite hostile. Many gas stations are without gas andothers are taking advantage of the situation and looting etc. I really pray that things dont become downright violent in the days to come. Many people realize they have nothing left and no home to go home to.....some of those may try and take what we have in spite of that.....its a grim situation throughout the coast. I'm still waiting to hear from friends who thought they would ride it out.

Nvrenuf only lives a mile from me. I drove by his house yesterday & did not see him but a big tree fell in his backyard and did not damage his K5 :D I only had shingles off the house & this time it looks like a new roof is in order. We did get power back up at 5:30pm yesterday but it was off this morning. We have power at work. The gas lines are getting crazy.

Glad to hear that most of the all of the CK5 brothers are o.k. I just wish there was something I could do to help but being on the east coast and with gas prices so high I don't see where its possible.
It's good to hear that most are OK. I should have power back by the weekend (so they say) butthe generator is keeping the beer and one room cool. Kids/wife are with her parents who have electricity/cable. Just me and the dogs at home. It's a tough job gaurding the house.:D
The bad thing is that Bowtieblazer is right and the crazies from NOLA are ariving en masse. i'm not talking about everyday people, its the people that had nothing there and are now here that I worry about. There were a lot or very poor people in NOLA who had little to start with and now appear to have little regard for others.
The looters are also a worry. They have to go somewhere now that NOLA is being completely evacuated and there is no good way to get east. It's beyond description there, as I'm sure everyone has seen on the news.

also unfortunately one of the few ways into the city of NOLA is through Baton Rouge. The city is expected to double in size in one week, gangs are begining to fly colors in teh city, I guess we will indeed see a power struggle here soon.....

i'm praying for all you guys and be cautious and take care of yourselves. My G/F father and stepmother live in Zachary La. they are fine they lost power for a bit but have it back now her grandpa is there with them he's from Slidell and there is/was no power as of the afternoon in slidell and residents are being encouraged to not return yet.

:woot: I'M ALIVE AND I'M FEELING THE CK5 LOVE!! :woot: Thanks for the concern fellas! :thumb:
We rode it out and did ok (great by comparison to you folks in Ms and La  ). From what I gather we got something between a cat 1 and cat 2 hurricane here in Mobile and P'cola got a cat 1. I have some damage but nothing a chainsaw and Allstate can't fix. I really feel for you guys west of us, from what I've seen on the news it looks crazy bad. The NOLA area looks almost out of control, I hope they use the 'Guard and such to clamp down quick and put a stop to the problems.
Thanks again for all the kind thoughts! I love this place!
Good to have you back att our online home. :waytogo:

I wish I could offer you guys some help but gas is real hard to find, you can't travel east and our west bound interstate is closed at the Ms stateline to non-residents.

the only help we need now is the nat'l guard, had a riot break out today where they are housing the refugees, they are car jacking in the calmer residential areas(tara blvd) and starting to scope things out. I'm becoming very nervous as I work along the main streets and 3 blocks from the interstate.

They are planning on sending in about 2000 or so Marines from the base here so help is on the way. Should see them roll up in a few days. If you all need anything down that way let us know. I am half tempted to come down there and lend a hand where I can. We are on a 24 hour notice to head down that way so might see my shining face down there too. Hope all is well and you all be careful.
