2) Build Blazer from pile of parts
3) Build Blazer from pile of parts

2) install K5 bucket seats and center console
3) add leaves to rear spring pack (allowing for shorter lift block)

Hey Rob, is all of that for the s 10? Thought you were selling it? Got a date for getting back?

I hope to have all of this stuff installed by my next wheeling trip...if not, then at least purchased.

S&W Racecars 10 point roll cage
No top
No doors
No tailgate
Basically no interior (weight reducation)
Front Lockright
Tube Doors
Rock Sliders
Weld the hole in my cv shaft that lets tranny fluid pour out. :doah:

And...I dont have enough money for tube bumpers so I was thinking, just take off the stock ones, and mount shackles to each frame rail front and back. But I dunno.

Anyways...the cage, doors, and sliders will require a lot of work and time. I dont know if I can get the cage in before the next trip but would definitely like to have it in by the end of next summer.

Then I will join you boys on a Tellico run. :D

Now that sounds like a good plan. :D I get home from appalachian on december 13th and have to go back sometime in mid january. Any weekend in there should be good. When are you open? What kind of steel would you recommend? Im thinking some kind of tubing, but what size? If we cant get together over the winter break, then I have 3 months off in the summer. :waytogo: But yeah, I have no real metal fabrication skills so this might make a great learning experience. I do have a welder, it just hasnt been hooked up yet (its a 220v, and the house is 110). But anyways, thanks for the offer John, and I will gladly take you up on it.

Hydro boost is pissing me off. I started it last weekend, got all of the old stuff off, put on the hydro boost, got the pedal all hooked up, pulled the pulleys off of both steering pumps and called it quits. Last weekend I swaped out the pulleys and installed the new one, got a few lines hooked up but came up short on two, so tonite I leave work a little earlly to take the hose down to a place that can make almost anything, the guy looks at it says I have 5 minutes and builds a new one with the extra length, I also get some power steering hose for another connection. Get home and everything is going good, get all the connections done except for one. I hate working in the dark but got out a light and thought i could get at least the steering done and bled tonite, then get a friend to help with the brakes and she would good, but no, one connection is keeping it parked. One good thing is they asked what it for and then came up with a entire hydro assist in like ten minutes, now I have to figure out a way to pay for it and do the flow mods to may spare steering box :doah:

Got the top cut off today, still have to clean up the cuts and pick up the sheet metal to fill in the gaps. I payed for most of my cage yesterday, the builder is ordering the DOM, all 1 3/4" .120 wall. I should have the holes filled and drop it off by friday along with the new seats, 5 points and floor shifter. Looks like I am not going to be able to do anything to the tranny/t case for awhile but I still need to get the 205 anyway. Once the holes are filled I will post some pics.

Yeah the humps out. It took me a few hours but now I realize that yall are talking about a cherry picker.:doah: I don't have one of those but I do have 3 chain falls on trollys in my shop. I've got one rolling "A" frame that will accept a chain hoist but was trying to figure a way to get it through the cab. I may run some box tubing through the doors, strap the tranny to it through the hump and put a chain hoist on both ends of the tubing. Could just borrow a cherry picker. Ummm, but it would take me longer to load and unload it than to just wrestle the tranny up.

Getting down and dirty just put it in granny let off the clutch, point it in the direction you want to go and bam! Even on the open road a lot better manners, giving me the controll of shift points. Awesome! Just got to do something with my front shocks. The furd tower on the drivers side is in the way of the clutch linkage. I'm thinking some custom hoops.

Got the gears done. Rotor and hubs about complete. Hope to get the D60 and 56s in this week. I'm using disk brake brackets I got off of ebay that will allow me to run the 3/4 rotors, callipers and pads. I had to drill the rotor holes out to 11/16ths and use 1 ton wheel studs.

clarkjw24: Could you please post some pics of the 56" spring install. I'm about to start this myself and need a little visual help. What lenght shackle are you going with? I'm thinking I might have to add to the front of the frame because the "90 model frame looks like it was cut shorter than the 80"s models.

thanks, troy

We need to get sapper to change the name of this thread from winter to spring:D

Here are my 56's all ready to go back in my GMC:wink1:

they have been wire brushed, painted, recenter pinned, greasable bushinged, and repadded:eek1: :D

The only thing I was thinking about doing was some kind of spacer, like the newer springs at the center pin between the leafs, we'll see. I need to find something to use.....
