I got my tube bender and I am going to order a ram to make it hydraulic and I was just wondering what size to get. What size stroke and cylinder size. Thanks for the help.

Here you go. Take the link. I am building one too. I have the cylinder and the log splitter valve. All I need is the pump and I can start cutting and welding the mount.

I don't have a figure right now, but the person who wrote the article gives the HF part numbers and you can look them up. I have the scrap steel already from my dump bed project.

Just some FYI but I would not use this for a cage. It is more then likely a "pipe" bender not tube bender. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=32888

You can also run a search on "pipe bender" and find tons of info here.

I had one of the HF "benders". I call them pipe crushers. I used it once and sold it.

The harbor freight bender is not for thin walled stuff. Cant do exhaust pipe, conduit, etc. Does a good job on real thick rebar and such.

Wish I could find something cheap that can bend exhaust pipe.

i totaled up what it would cost to do a hydrolic conversion less the cost of the steel, it aint cheap but i think it is still worth it. i figured about 700 bucks. thats out of the Northern catalog figures. could find parts cheaper elsewhere i guess. i will bend manual for now until i can afford to do the conversion.
