What kind of transmission jacks do you guys use? Im fixin to get one.

i just made an adaptor that fits my 3 ton floor jack. works well when the ride is low to the ground and fits on small to medium jack stands. would prefer the trolly type and one used for when i hve a 4 post lift some day....

got a cheap 3 ton floor jack and tranny adapter at Harbor Freight, great price, and I've used it several times already, works great.

I use a motorcycle/atv jack. Does great - especially with our tranny/x-fer case combos since it has a big platform area.

2 1/2 ton floor jack plus me balancing the tranny or t-case :haha:

I got a tranny jack but when i actually removed my tranny it wasnt very useful. I used the engine hoist through the floor when i dropped my tranny (sm465/205). My truck isnt lifted so using the jack wasnt very helpful. My atv jack was more useful for removing the 205.

I would say my transmission is a good 3 feet off the garage floor when the tires are at street pressure, i was looking at this

I have that HF trans jack. With big tires, fully inflated you're right, it isn't tall enough. With little 35s aired down tho... :thumb: I have a welder and castor wheels can be had relatively cheap... I'm gonna extend the height on mine as soon as I sell my 35s...

This worked perfect for me, with my truck on 35's and 6" lift. Didnt even need those straps, it was very stable. You cant see it, but the lip or what ever it would be called on the jack comes off, so I just drilled the 4x4 and bolted them together, the tranny could even spin on it. It didnt work so good with the t-case, but it would had been real easy to make it work, but I just got muddybuddy to help lift it in my hand.
