Not bad for a Ford............... Nah, like I told you earlier, it is a gem. It probably is a good thing I didn't drive it or I would have tried to sell you my Duramax....

I know I was one to say it was a Ford too, but this is one of those trucks you would have to see to appreciate. I looked at it today and I was starstruck from it. I am a die hard GM person but I would proudly drive this thing around town. Updated front clip on it and the interior is perfect on this. I don't think John's wife will let him drive it if he has been working on his truck. I sure wouldn't want to mess up the interior.

Nothing for atleast a year, until I find some toy money. Right now it get the basics, fuel, rear tires, and a gooseneck ball.

Well, I got the truck home today. Man I love it. I left this morning at 7:30 and made the 4 1/2 hour trip......one way.....on my motorcycle. Its was fun and an experience but I could have done without the numbness. My throttle hand, arse, and jollies kept going numb. Got there at 12:00, bs'd awhile then loaded the bike on the back and started home around 1:30. Got to work at 5:15 so I'm on the night shift tonight. It was all worth it though.:wink1:

I agree with Paul, maybe time to throw a coat of paint on the trail rig. :waytogo:

So, 3 weeks later and having towed with it, whats your thoughts?

My thoughts 3 weeks later, having pulled a 30ft gooseneck and 1ton k5 through the mountains.....................I need more power. I'm in the hunt for a chip, intake, guages and some exhaust mods. It pulled fine but if I ever let it drop below 45mph I was out of my power range and it was hard to recover. On flat and down hill, I couldn't feel it back there, but climbing 6% or more grades, I found it hard to keep the momentum. I guess alot had to do with my "ole man" driving style. I'm interested to see how it handles with my 20ft tilt and the k5. I'm betting it does better pulling but the road manners will be worse.

Dont feel bad, I am the same way. After getting a whopping 10-11 mpg's both ways I ordered the Hypertech programer and I'm trying to get Heather to approve a 4" exhast minus cat. After that I want a intake but nothing with a oiled filter, going either the Fram or Brute Force synthetic dry filters.

Paul, I got an exhaust system from Summit for $379. 5" system. I got a 6" tip from MBRP. It was for the 01 to 04 models. Put it on mine from turbo back, made a major improvement without the cat! Towing the truck last weekend, I got around 12 to 13. Open road cruising I can get 19 to 21 consistently. I am waiting on Edge to get their crap together on a Juice/ attitude system for it (late October)

Yea I saw that huge tip on yours and meant to ask you some questions. I have been reading on The Diesel Place and the Edge seams to have a few problems, alot of people having to send the boxes back for new units. I picked the Hypertech because its about as tame as they come but the dyno results show 580 foot pounds at 1600 rpm. Way more than I need but i do ewant the exhaust to keep egt's down as far as possible.
