So here's what I am thinking for my k5. I'm thinking of skipping the whole 52/56 combo in favor of normal 4 in lift/shackle flip in the rear. I'd run a zero rate in the front, along with a 6 in shackle in the rear to end up with around 5 inches of lift. Gonna have to hack the fenders to make the 42's fit though.

I'm thinking that not going crazy long travel front and rear will save me some $$$ and some headaches. I'll have plenty of ground clearance with the 42's, plus keep a lower center of gravity. I measured my old k5 with the 52's and a zero rate up front and got about 7-7.5 inches of lift vs my "new" 85.

Plus I will retain the option to go long travel at a later date. At this point I have no tow rig so I'll have to drive the thing to where I want to go.

Any body have a set of 4 in fronts laying around?

That sounds like a winner to me. Keep it simple:D

A guy here in town has a set of 4" rough countries he's been trying to sell for a while, I'll see if I can track him down if you're interested.

ps. whats your week look like re tires/hood/doors/clutch meet up?

I'm ready for the swap whenever you are. Mom and dad are coming to visit this weekend, so I'd love to clear out the garage this week.

Only day no go is thursday, I'll be in an all day EMS training class.

IIRC he wants $100 for the fronts, rear blocks and shocks. I'll try to get in touch with him tomorrow.
