Driving home from work, coasting downhill, wicked vibration from rear of truck, then some strange noises from rear of truck.

Pinion nut was about a turn to one and a half turns loose, there are chunks missing from the yoke, and after tightening the nut, the pinion is still loose.

Dont feel to bad I was driving mine yesterday when I fouind out that one of my spring bolts had snapped in the housing, guess now I need to find a set of studs:doah:

I kick myself everyday for coming out here, stop rubbing it in. Like I tell my kids dont knock it untill you try it, hopefully after this deployment I will back on the right coast

Yeah, I'm kind of torn right now, just throw some bearings and a yoke/u-joint in it, or just swap it out for another set of 1/2t's with some decent gears in them. Need to do something to have it driveable till I can swap the 1 tons in. Which looks like it's a long way off.

Hate like hell I missed it, looks like a good time. I'm very glad it did happen close to home, not up in uwharrie.
