All right. So the K10 is running now. However, comma, pause for effect....

Numero Uno, hech
It has a SUPER high idle to it. I have played with the idle adjustment screw on the side of the Qjet to get the idle down, but when I throw it in a gear, it idles down more and stalls out.

So with this setup, I can put it in drive, idle to work and still be speeding.

Nay (neigh), duece, Dos,
So now it is running, drove it to work this morning, got almost there and it starts mis firing like a champ. Pull over in a parking lot, shut ti down, and start looking for problems. All wires hooked up, none burnt from headers, getting plenty of fuel but doesn't seem to be getting any spark. Fast forward 20 minutes, try to start it again and fires liek nothing was even wrong. Any hints or suggestions.

San or Tres

Why is the sky blue?

Naaahhh, but really. On the Q jet, where does the vacuum advance hose connect to on the carb? I have it in the one on the right side of the carb now just next to the PCV valve connection.

TIA

Sounds like a vacuum leak or the timing is off.

Check high idle cam on q-jet make sure it's not stuck.

Vac advance just needs full vac at idle the port no matter.

Check spark control in distrubutor for eratic running.

Sky is blue because the air on this rock is sphere shaped. :D

Where is this thing located at? I played with the little star screw that is spring loaded on the throttle arm and that is where I played with the idle to bring it down a little bit.

Just keep in mind I am carb stupid.......

For now strictly a daily driver, well I have a 6" lift to put on it but thats it.....................well and some bigger meats but really that is all I am going to do to it. I have the other in pieces behind the house I need to put together.

It's sometimes called choke idle. Adjustment should be on the choke side on carb near base plate. Kinda a pain to get to I'll take some pics when I get off work. :D

Something else to check if your firing is speratic(sp?) anyway, the whole distributer could be worn out. Swap in another complete distributer. We fought with one with the same symptoms for a couple months. Changed every part we could think of in the ignition, distsributer, plugs, wires. Finally pulled out another distributer from my handydandy parts bin and that fixed it.

Thanks for the pictures CB

I was out there looking fir it at lunch time today and I was close. I will get out there tomorrow and play with it some more and try to get the RPM down a little more. I fired it up today at lunch and fired fine the first time. Shut it down and really dids nothing started it back up and was missing like all get out. Went through and checked the plugs and they were soake dwith gas from running rich and or me flooding it trying to get it started again.

You think the lifters will have anything to do with any of my symptoms. I am know to have them a little too tight.......?
