I'm looking to replace my tore up dashboard in the k5.
Has anyone ordered from www.dashtops.com (http://coloradok5.com/forums/www.dashtops.com)? Do they fit well?

Or should I order it from LMC?

Also, I broke the mechanical part of the steering column that tells you what gear you are in ? I've searched LMC and can't seem to find out which part number it is. If anyone knows, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Page 111 of the current LMC catalog shows the mechanical shift indicators, they show three:

32-7236 73-79
32-7238 80-83
72-3240 84-90

Hope this is what you were looking for.

I have not ordered my new dash as of yet, but if you go with DashTops let me know how it works out.

I'd go LMC for parts.

Are you sure you have the right LMC catalog? It seems you have trouble finding stuff that is pretty fast to find when you mention you can't find it. What catolog do you have?

I had looked a couple of days ago at the online LMC catalog and I guess I wasn't able to find it. Got it now, thanks.

On the dash, I'm thinking about going with dashtops because LMC only offers the dash in black and my interior is blue.

They do offer some pretty decent paint for changing the dash color to match your interior. If I was going with LMC that would be the way I do it, but still let us know how it works out either way.

Has anyone had experience with either product ? how do they fit? Also does the paint match the factory color?

I searched the forum but didn't really get an answer.

I believe JCwhitney has them in different colors

Also depending how trashed your dash pad is, consider a dash mat. Cheap ($30-40) and looks nice and easy to put on. Can cover up a lot of cracks and damage. You can order them in any parts store.

It is cracked badly and I want to replace it since I do not like the way the dash mats look. Just looking for some info on which to buy?

I run a cap on mine. It fits so well that when I bought the truck, I thought it was the dash. And it's blue.

Do you know who it came from?

TTT

I found this company, and theirs are available in black or "colors".

I recently realized mine was covered with a "skin" as well. My dash skin is black, but it's covering a formerly blue dash pad. I don't know who made mine, as it was obviously there when I got the truck, but it fits well enough to where I thought it was stock.

Edit: more here...

I have one of these that was just given to me. It is black, but I want black for the dash anyway. It appears from test fitting, that once I get the cracks in my current dash sanded smooth, that it will fit tight and look like it is original. The color is a little too shiny, so I am going to see about using some Krylon Fusion to make it a little more of a matte finish.

my rig has a dash cap on it too, but mine is falling apart and looks worse then the original underneath. i think the PO wanted a blue interior, as the kicker panels down by my feet are brown and so are the seatbelts. the original dash is "buckskin" very dark brown and in good shape. i want to eventually change the interior to white/tan with rhinolined floors and paint the outside flat tan. but thats another thread:D
