Other than the steering wheel, what else was changed in the interior of the k5s in 89?
Also, are the steering wheels themselves interchangeable ie can you swap the 89-91 style into an 87/88?

the steering wheel and maybe the emblem on the dash (not sure). the wheels are definitely interchangeable. i have a 94 (same as 89-91) wheel in my 88 Jimmy. i like the looks of the newer ones better myself.

Rear seat belts for shoulder belts, some seat stitching differences, pads on read seat moved from seat to wheel well, double din radio, ........among others

Could they come with all the woodgrain dash inserts, newer style radio, etc?
I haven't seen enough of that vintage K5's to know, but at some point, at least on Suburbans, that woodgrain made a comeback, and the radios went to the two post on one side style, as opposed to all previous being one post on either side.

I cant say Ive ever seen a K5 of that year with woodgrain dash, only Suburbans.
But everything 73 said is spot on

I hope the seat mounts are the same, I just bought front seats from an 89 for my 76 Jimmy.

Not even close , the floor mounts are different . I am not sure of 89 , but as late as 85 the seats still had dual holes under the foam at the seat base , so either 70's or 80's brackets fit .
89 may be too new , but maybe the holes are there anyway too :thumb:

Guess I'll find out - after all, that's what welders, drills and bolts are for. Thanks for the reply.

I got Astro Van seats in my 83 , not a true bolt in either . I never owned factory seats until a year ago , and they aren't even in my 83 :D

I had to drill an extra hole or 2 on each side of my 80 to put the buckets from my 88 in
