So I'm sure the total would be pricey from LMC, but is available. Anyone done it? I think mine would look nice that way. Although mine has very few flaws on the inside. Anyone have pics of theirs? Mine is grey BTW.
An interior Forum sure would be sweet:rolleyes:

Id like to get black everything, door panels, head liner, dash cover, you name it. I ordered the Billet dash inserts, and door pieces on thursday. We'll see what it looks like then..
My Blazer is an 88. The exterior is gray with blue below the trim. I want to repaint it similar with Charcol gray, and Sonic blue.

I am converting from blue to black interior (orange truck, blue looks stupid) in stages. I can tell you first hand that it is expensive. That being said, it depends on what you want and if its worth it to you. Your big ticket items are going to be carpet, seats, dashboard, and door panels, and headliner/trim. Also there are several parts that you will not be able to find in black you you will have to substitute, make your own, or paint/dye your stock stuff.
Dont forget you can probably sell your stock interior parts on here and recoup some of your money though.

I have a pretty open budget. Gonna do this after lift. Its all piece by piece process. Your truck looks nice BTW, saw it on Myspace;)

there was a black carpet kit for sale in classifieds...get dye....they make pretty good stuff for this now, you could do your dash pad and arm rests and other vinyle parts w/dye w/ pretty good results...the plastic part use plasti-coat...buy the carpet and seats/covers...alot cheaper and fairly easy both physically and on the pocket book

Can you buy this at auto stores like Kragen? Vinal paint work? Or do I need actual dye?

The SEM colorcoat rattlecans do A nice job on the plastics and dashpad.. mine have held up fine... I've also heard good things about the Krylon Fusion too.
Oldschool vinyl dye is also still readily available at autobody supply places in qrts for spraying too...
my interior has gone black, from brown... pretty much hate any other interior color...

most automotive paint stores will have high quality dye, but most your parts stores do have rattle can vinyle dye and plasti-cote....but like i stated the auto paint stores have it in pints or quarts...you can apply w/foambrush, let sit and dye good, then wipe away excess, kinda like staining wood, going black,..prolly 2 coats...going to colors usually require more, like the red dash pad in my 68..i dyed it light blue and took quit a few coats...they sell some dye that claims 1 coat..even changing colors...hijack..any1 ever seen a white dash pad? did gm make 1?h/j off

Adam, I love the idea of using side trim for the panels. Too bad I ordered the billet pieces already. Not that I would copy you or anything. Still though, an interior forum would be cool.:woot:

DO NOT use the Duplicolor vinyl stuff! It sucks. I bought the stuff from LMC but havent had a chance to try it. I'm going to use it on my dash. You will have a hard time finding black seatbelts for the front and your rear interior panels...that might be a pain too.

I can make the rears myself. Im thinking of 1/8" hard board with black naugahide, or cloth.

I plan on using marine plywood and having room to mount either 2 6x9s and a sub or 4 6x9s and also having locking storage in the rear. When I get around to it I'll add it onto my build thread. Thats if we dont have an interior forum by then.:D

I'd say a black interior conversion would be cool! But, I could be biased as I plan to do a conversion to black eventually on my rig.:D Mine is a bit simpler though (it's a base model trim truck), I don't have headliner, bed side panels, tailgate covering, or carpet (it DID have carpet but, it's gone, gonna be bedlined!).

Headliner has got to be the worst! I've been searching for a good solution for the headliner in my crew cab in black for a long time. I think I'm just going to give in and take it to an upholstery place.:(

Sorry to hijack but what did you have to do for brackets to make those 02 seats fit your floors??

Since we replaced the floor panels, changed the mounts to fit the 02 seats.

I will have a complete new black interior in my '81 Crew cab next year, to match the black exterior. That is on the project list for 2009 winter.
I'll be doing the full LMC setup, with all new panels, dash, carpet, stock style Silverado trim...the works. I plan to do as little painting as possible. I want it to look like it just rolled out of the Flint, Michigan plant when I'm done!:D Probably will run about $1200 or so, crew cabs aren't cheap....

Black interior all the way ha.. Mine is stock blue !:( I'm converting to black by means of the following... No more carpet, rustoleum black paint on the floor and tailgate and lower half of dash(the metal part) I found a good shape used black dash pad, I'm leaving my stock chrome gauge bezel. All the plastic trim pieces I'm painting with black plastic spray paint. The rear side walls I'm just making new ones and painting them black. I'm getting gray seats which I'm going to leave and gray door panels, I'm painting all the plastic and metal parts of the doors black and leaving the rubber/fabric gray...
