how much is it to line a floor of an 86 blazer? how feasable is it for a DD and how well will it dampen sound and insulate?

I used Herculiner on mine and spent about ~$200 altogether to do the whole tub. 3 thick coats, it turned out great and it's holding up well so far. Some people say it's junk, but I say it's awesome for someone who doesn't have money coming out their A$$.

X2 except I used Duraback. I like its texture better. oh and duraback has a UV resistant formula you can buy too!

I used Herc. for the cab section bout 50 bux. then used Dupi- color bed liner for the rear 50 bux bout a huge container and did several layers... i love the stuff. i just did it this week so not sure how well it works... but so far its GREAT.

I had a couple of layers of herculiner on the floor, I dont know if it dampend any sound, but lasted 3 years for me without any problems. with the cap off and the sun hitting the floor it fades.

I've done 2 blazers and 2 cherokees, several layers each, works great.
It's all about the prep! Scratchand sand it up good, it'll last a long time, dont prep.. it'sll peal off.

I herculined the cab of my rig last summer. 1 $90 kit did the 2 thick coats, and I love it.

I did the floor in my K10 with Duraliner gave it 3 good coats and I loved it.

I have had both the DIY stuff and professional Rhino Lining on two different Jeeps.

The quality, thickness, everything it TOTALLY different.

My Rhino Lined Jeep tub is AWESOME!!!! Stuff is THICK, rubbery and wonderful.

The Rhino lined tub made the Jeep TONS quieter. The DIY stuff had about zero impact.

I had the 3M brand bedliner in my truck and it was ok (I did TONS of prep). It was cheap and worked ok, it did chip pretty easily.

It didn't protect from sound or heat anywhere near what the stock stuff did.

Professional bedliners are way better/stronger in my experience, I bet I spent ~$80-100 to bedline the interior of mine, professional liner is probably more like $800.

The 3M stuff was cheap but not great. I have a friend that used the Herculiner stuff with similar results. You can have mediocre results for cheap or have a good coating for more $$$

thanks fellas i was out ridin and dropped off in a good hole i was unaware of and got water all in my carpets... sad thing is i got a real nice interior so i probably rurnt the carpets. maybe i need to stay out of the deep stuf!!!LOL

In Virginia Beach they wanted ~$800 to do the tub of my Blazer with Rhinoliner. I used Herculiner myself. For sound insulation it isnt all that great and the floorpan gets pretty hot from the exhaust.

had a similar experience. i used a cheap kind than a more expensive in my bed. bed turned out better but i did crappy preep inside. for sound and heat they both sck i think

rhino is nice though....but inside id use line-x

I really like Speedliner. You can buy it and spray it on yourself with a capable compressor and a paint hopper. It forms a chemical bond with the special primer it requires, and the texture is really nice. It's not like paint with grit in it, it's actually like chunky paint.
