my friends racer. Don't have pics of Marty's but his is a shortbox 70s style truck. We have a track here at my 4x club property. Our winter baja is in 2 weeks

Chevy, 4 Doors, semigloss black, and fast. Doesn't get any better. Until it gets it's D50 TTB up front and becomes 4x4.

On a tangent, and not claiming to know enough about the racing class. I had the occasion to run some "improved" dirt road in Joshua Tree Nat'l park last Spring. Mild whoopdee do's, fine dust over small washboard. I experimented with both 2WD and 4WDHi, running as fast as 70mph. Of course, with 2WD, the front understeers. With 4WDHi, my 2007 K2500HD just plain pulled through the curves, otherwise I would not have run that fast. Having that said, I wouldn't want to run at those speeds without 4WDHi, just like the race trucks do. Where's the benefit of running 2WD super flexies?

I never was really into desert prerunners until recently and this thread is helping me like them more.

Hey, I saw this at a show before, but now it's on race-dezert.com for 150k.:D

Here is a FULL SIZE prerunner! A suburban built using a 73 chassis. It has a TH400, NVG241 transfer case, 8.1 liter Vortec (only 420hp), 20 in front and 36 in rear travel. All sorts of other do dads to make your mouth water.

I remember when 4-Wheel & Off-Road built that thing...and then it just fell off the face of the...magazine.

the reason that thing hasnt been seen since is it didnt work worth a dam. read on race dez a few years ago that they had serious handling issues with it that couldnt be fixed.

Figures. Over the past ten years I've noticed that only that project and the race '04 F150 have completely disappeared.

yea after i get my cage in and actually hit whoops at over 50mph ill see if i wanna end up building a 2wd center mount a arm monster blazer or not.. kinda hard to decide.. go anywhere and hit whoops and jumps decent or be able to hit whoops faster and smoother and do the olds double.. hmmm .. really wouldnt mind stripping down the blazer and center mount triple bypasses and coilovers on every corner :confused:

This is a very true statement! I was thinking about getting that front end for the Burb build, and figuring out a way to use the flared bedsides.

That last pic looks sweet with the suspension unloaded...

That's the Zorro team's '69 Camaro trophy truck, with most of the body torn off.:D

I'd pretty much like to see all of those :D Some I've seen already but to make it easier I'm interested in the K5s with the grille updates. I'd really like to see the one in the lower left showing the coilovers through the cargo area.

that's too weird. I saw the blue first gen pickup (Dirty72 plate) in Simi Valley last weekend. It was in the parking lot of a restaurant. I looked it over for a few minutes hoping the owner would come out but ended up having to leave. That thing is sweet.
