CK5 - The Full-Size GM Off Road Community

Anybody want to help clear some trails on about 240 acres outside Jackson, MS. I have the land and not much time or help locally to be able to do this.

Just wondering.:dunno: It is just so dead in here these days. Not too long ago this was a very active forum. Mostly what made me want to pay for the CK5 prescription.:D

I'm interested in helping, but I think I am too far away to come often. How far from Memphis is this place/ you?

You're what, 3~4 hours from me? I wouldn't mind helping but like Boz I'm kinda far away.

What's the land like? Flat, hills, washes, etc?

I would love to help out ....... but the Blazer ain't running and that is a bit far for me.

Mapquest says 3 hours from Memphis to Jackson, so that would make it a 4.5 hour ride for me. I couldn't do it often, but I would defently consider coming once or twice.

Tell us more about this place.

I would be willing to pitch in sometime in the near future. I've got a few things lined up at the moment and the Jimmy is about 2 months from substantial completion. Then I will be ready to play/work!

Thanks for the offers guys. The land is about 45 mins. east of Jackson in Harperville. The majority of it is in pine timber so that is pretty much in straight rows for easy thinning. There is about 40 acres of hardwood bottom land that stays wet for a while after a heavy rain. We have a 50 acre (approximate) pasture that is really a large hill - not very steep anywhere. The land has not been used much for nearly 30 years so there is a lot of undergrowth to clean up for any trails. I feel like there are some areas that would be a nice ride and somewhat challenging (or could be made that way) but there are no rocks and not many steep hills. The challenges would be any mud. There is a nice 8-10 acre pond onsite that feeds a small creek. It is up in the pine tract area.

I plan on trying to walk it over the next few months to basically lay out what I think would be some fun parts. I have to leave it mostly unharmed as far as the pines go since that is my daughters college tuition and hopefully my retirement.:D
