84 3/4 diesel sub, banks kit, gm goodwrench 6.5 replacement block(unshure of miles on motor was told within a few years of when I bought it). I don't have miles handy(Died in work parking lot).

Black top and bottom silver stripe down the middle and red pinstripe. Grey interior with wear and tear nothing really bad. 3 benches.

It is a 20 footer looks good from a little bit away. It has rust in the usual spots, under door handles, some trim, under front lip of hood from bug guard install, bottoms of doors.

I bought this sub 2 yrs ago with the ambition to partially restore it.

In the first week I owned it I put 2 new batteries(gell filled from autozone), a new alternator(standard 75 amp replacement), new tires from BigO, and new front brakelines(good thing it blew while sitting in my driveway).

A few months ago I did a front wheel baring, motor mounts, and the fuel pump.

When it's warm it starts great and runs great. Hard to start in the cold but runs great after it gets warm.

A few weeks ago the starter started to grind and it blew a fuse. I coulden't get it to start then the batteries went dead. We have had a series of bad storms and its been really cold so I haven't bothered to try to get it started again.

There is 64000 on the truck, not sure how many times it has rolled over and don't know how long the motor has been in it for sure. From what I was told it is the GM Good Wrench replacement motor from chevy. I thought they only had the 6.5 option avail and retired the 6.2 when you needed a replacement.

If you know what your doing I don't think it would be a hard fix and a good driver. Or parts if your into that.

I dont have time or patience for it anymore so I just want it gone.

It Hurts to ask this little since I paid 3500 for it 2 years ago and put close to 1500 more in the first week alone. I've heard the Banks kit alone is going for 700 or so used so lets start at 1,500 OBO and see if anyone is interested. Open to offers.

Do you have any idea of which axles and the ratio that are in it?

bigfancyname

I think they are 4.10 but not 100% positive.

Thanx kgblazer5, it has the th400 and is still sitting. I thought about getting it going again and driving it, but I would rather have something smaller like a toyota 4runner as I dont need 2 suburbans.

Let me talk to the wife as i'd love to have it for the engine for the chalet project.
The only issue i'd have is getting the time to drag a trailer up to ogden due to the schedule out here on the rig as i don't get shxt for time off....

Any more pictures (especially of the rust) and any idea what would fix it? Still vaguely in the back of my mind but being as I'm 1000 miles away it'd need to be worth my time/money.

Pick it up on your way back from BB08 :D

AJMBLAZER

That would require a functioning, moving offroading vehicle...don't have one of those right now.

cwillis
07-25-2008, 07:15 PM
so you want to sell me the banks system?

bigfancyname
07-26-2008, 09:46 AM
I don't plan on parting it any time soon. I don't have the time for that at the moment. You could buy it, take what you want, and sell the rest...

Will consider trades of good running (little to no work needed) and decent looking smaller sport utes and vans of all sizes.

Still interested but i have just taken a month off of work for some well deserved R@R so the funds are low. I do have a running 90 Jimmy i might consider trading but its rather ruff in the interior department. To make her run it took a fuel filter...starter...battery and the repair of the starter wires. I was going to take the entire drivetrain and upfit it into a rust free 74 K5 project i have. Let me know....if time isn't a huge concern i am sure we can do something cash or trade towards the end of sept. once i drill a few holes and the paychecks start coming in again if you can wait.

I'm looking more for a commuter/backup vehicle for my family or mother-inlaw as I think her 94 S10 blazer is going to die and its a lost cause. Not in that much of a hurry just would like to have it out of my hair.

azblazer

I understand completely. I did run across a 85 C20 yesterday at my buds yard that is pristine under the hood....which is a 6.2L. And 800 bonez is dirt cheap for a turn key runner. But i'd still like to have yours due to the banks kit which would motivate the chalet very nicely. Like i said i took a month off from the oil patch so as a contractor i need to get back at it and get a few paychecks rolling in before i can do anything.
