Hi,

I've got a truck with a 76 cab on it, and the truck has been completely re-done from the ground up. The dash pad in it was in so-so shape and I have been contemplating a dash pad cover from LMC. My buddies have used them and they were so good and fit so tight that I didn't even know they were a cap/lining.

Here is my question:

The dash pad that is in the truck now, despite being a 1976 cab, is a 1987 style. I am curious if anyone has photos of the two different dash pad designs. It seems that the later models were just a little more angular (which I prefer) but I'd like to see some photos of some stock dashes from both years if anyone out there has a camera and two trucks (or knows of some photos kicking around). Is the difference only aesthetic? or are there some functional differents that I am unaware of such as venting in a different spot, different bolt-on clips, different sizing, etc....?

Thanks.

I bought a replacement dash pad, not a cover. I am quite pleased with how it turned out. Just left it black.

To my knowledge the only real design change in the later years was a kick out on the right side of the dash. Every one that I have seen is pretty much the same except for that little kick out. I will try to post a couple of pics later of my current dash, but it won't show the whole thing. I was taking some pics of the CB and stereo so it should cover most of what you want to see in the early design.
