I'm with ya boss. I'll be at the m&g and I'm going to try to do the Gardendale trip but I'll miss the rest because most of my vacation time is already commited.
I'll be honest Fred, it would be cool for you to ride but I warn you many of the (local) trails are not friendly to a freshly resto'd K5. I'm not talking about damage, just lots of scratches for the most part.

I'm gonna try and make it to Garbagedale if I get some new tires. My M/T's are just about slicks.:(

From Baton Rouge, might be quicker to take 55 north and 20 across to Gardendale
Gardendale is 10 miles out of Birmingham

The club is in Mobile. They've been wheeling all week here locally but are now going to head to Gardendale (outside of B'ham) to wheel for the weekend. :wink1:

So you're wanting to join the convoy going to Gardendale (Birmingham) tomorrow? I don't know who owns the land in Gardendale but it is a very popular wheeling spot.
If you're wanting to wheel here in Mobile, wait a little while. The guys are wheeling right now but will finish up early this afternoon to get ready to go out of town. It'll probably be a couple of weeks before they do anything locally again since they'll most likely be in recovery mode. :doah:
As for the local areas, most trails are on undeveloped county property. Privately owned wheeling land is tough to come by around here.
Are you a member of any of the La wheeling boards?

I hate to hear about the truck trouble but I'll keep you posted on the rides. If you have time check out the website, sometimes there are rides posted but Ms clubs also.
Beware the Lock It Up group likes to be "pirate-ish" so don't be offended if the board comes across harsh, they're all good folks that have a great time wheeling. :thumb:

They had a good time with minimal breakage, 1 driveshaft and 1 bent tie rod. I'll get a link to the pics. :wink1:

Your rig with drive shaft and tie-rod? Hope not although it'll give ya something to do in all that spare time.

Oh no, the driveshaft was an Explorer (3/4 ton w/ 38's) and the tie rod was a Jeep (1 ton w/ 39's). I wish my junk had been there but I'm still working on it.
