I'm heading to bed now. Tomorrow I hope to go work on some trails at the farm. Maybe one day I can get the details worked out and have all you guys here for a weekend of fun in the woods.:wink1:

I managed to get my 47's mounted today, had to redo one of them 4 times and I can't get 2 of those stinkers to hold air for more than an hour. :surepal: I wonder if that fix-a-flat junk works on Hummer wheels.
My youngest daughter got her end of the season t-ball trophy today, man she was stoked! I haven't broken the news to her yet that she's done playing until next year. :doah:
The weathers getting really nice, might try to take an open top spin in the Jeep next weekend.

This weekend kicked ass! Some bad ass trucks over in Natchez. The event itself was kind of lame because there were a lot of smaller trucks and they all had to run before the big boys could. One of the guys that I had actually met before would have won by a country mile, but it was getting late and he was tired of being there. So he decided to split the pot with another guy, instead of going to time trials.
No pics, my buddy video taped the majority of the races but he never puts them on the internet, I need to steal his camera for a day.

John,
When do you want that steering box cap that I have?
It's just sitting on the peg board in the garage collecting dust....

My week-end stunk. I put the second 4L80E in my CC in a months time & it isn't right, so it is gonna have to come back out again, & I was at a friends house playing on a pile of busted up concrete in the K5 & roasted another Trans in it.
I am tired of transmission troubles!

What's up with the CC? I had some trouble with mine too. I do have the factory manuals if they'd help you with codes, etc.. :wink1:

Thanks for the offer. I bought a factory manuel from Johnny Chimpo on here a while back so I am good.
The CC dropped 1st 3 weeks ago. Codes led to "B" shift selonoid. Replaced all electronics & updated wiring harness. Got 1st back but it was too late. After a tear down it revealed a busted Clutch Apply piston in the direct drum.
I started to build it myself, but was short on time, & had heard good things about this guy at a local stealership in Memphis, so I used him. He built it for a good price, & I put it back in. This one had a bad Convertor & it wasted itself in a couple of days.
He stood behind his work & rebuilt it again. This time 1st gear is shuttering. He is out of town until next week so my truck is down til he gets back.
I don't know about the K5. I have been building that trans. I think it ate its second convertor. I know that is what happened to the first one. This one is doing the same as that one.
I am just having a good run of bad luck with slushboxes lately.

I feel your pain dude...
Over time I put 3 400's in my K10 (2 pro built in south Florida) and the straw that killed me was 4l80e trouble in my CC. I had it built once (it was already a reman from military) and had a few electrical gremlins to chase before I set it free. I prefer autos myself and still have everything to use a 400 with my doubler but I had enough trouble that I gave up and decided on a 4 spd.

I prefer the auto's too. One of the old school guys here local said I would prolly tear up a 465 with the caddy stroker too. He said he had seen several die behind stroker BBC's. If i didn't he said he would garantee the 60 would not live with a 465.

Btw, do any of your wheels have small leaks? If so, any fix other than breaking them down? I've got 2 that ever so slowly bleed down and I'm tired of tearing them apart. Fix-a-flat maybe?

Weather is great. I love driving this K-5 with no top. (the truck not me). I wish I had done this long ago. I drove into the neighborhood behind a neighbor in his new Porsche convertible and I distinctly remember thinking that I'd rather be in mine than his.
This is great.

After the storms go through here this weekend I'll be taking mine off too.
I've made it very easy to do.:thumb:

No leaks here. Did you use old or new o-rings? I had to buy new cause my wheels had no o-rings when I bought them.
The first time I put them together they leaked, & I stripped a stud or 2. Next time I soaked the o-rings, beads, & studs with WD-40 liberally. No problems since.

New o-rings. I followed your advice and used a liberal amount of wd40 during assembly.
