Im buying my first k5, 91, 350 auto, real nice starting point, very very little rust, its got a few small problems, one is the track that is attached to the windshield that the rear view mirror normally slides onto is broken.

I have a few questions.
1- How do I get the rest of the track thing off the windshield?
2-What do I use to clean off all the stuff that holds it on?
3-What can I use to stick the new one on?
4-Does anyone have the nub/track thing that the mirror slides onto, along with a rear vew mirror? Looking to buy them, lol.

Thanks

Will have what you need.

I purchased a used mirror from e-bay with a built in compass. no problem to install and gave me map lights that I did not have before.

got to autozone and get a replacement...hell go to wal-mart...use fishing string or something thin like that 2 get the old one off, use a razor blade to scrape off the glue...when u purchase a new attachment, it will come with glue...

Be sure to do it on a cold day or toss the junk glue they give you with a new one from wally world and use some good glass epoxy or what I did was go to Safelight Auto Glass and ask them for a tube of window cement- works best out of all of them.

use acetone, that stuff even eats through superglue
