CK5 - The Full-Size GM Off Road Community

I just booked my flight (last minute, nonetheless), so I'll be in P'cola at 10:25 this Friday, leaving at 16:59 the following Monday.

Not bad, considering I bought my ticket and rental car as a package deal not two minutes, and it's only gonna run me $506.67. Cool.

maybe get together Sunday. Will be 30-40 miles out in the Gulf Saturday Good Lord willing. I'd drive from Mobile to Pensacola to meet a K-5 brother.

I live near Scott and Rob - see 'em every time I come back. If John and any others (maybe whoever is within a 1 hour drive) are up for it, let's do something Sunday.

I'm up for whatever.

It's about time for another get together but I'm booked for this weekend. :crazy:

Rob and I are booked Sunday afternoon. Got a little girl birthday party.:D Maybe Saturday evening? I'mthere if Chris is buying the beer.

Hey,. this is the first time in a LONG time that I don't have a very constricted agenda while I'm down there - this weekend is an actual vacation for me, so.....let's make something happen!!

Okay Rob's house in work clothes. We can disassemble the parts truck. While we bu;;shi# and have a beverage or ten. Safety first of course. So how about a thrash for a couple hours then we let Chris buy steaks for all of us?:D So who's in?

Yeah, anytime Saturday is good for me. Tear the 2wd parts truck dow and sell Chris the 6.2 out of it to go with his 60 front, one piece at a time man!

Then try and fire the K5 and put it on stands and drop the front end. I'll buy the first 24 pack and you guys can drink it all!

I can try to make it Saturday for a while at least. I will be doing some painting and minor assembly on the 350 that is replacing the tired 305 in my driver but after I make a trip to the junkyard and get that stuff done I can swing by for a wrenchin' meet'n'greet.

If you would have come down a week later you could help me stuff the engine in!:D

Oh, I dont have my K5 anymore :( but I can still hang out right?

Sorry I didnt get to come over guys. I spent 4 hours in the junk yard looking for parts for my projects and as soon as I get home my buddy calls me and we end up going back out to Butlers and Kikers. What a day! After all that i was beat!

Did you find anything good?

We got some work done. Long bed off and disassembled. Rear 10 bolt out, rearsprings off. The cab is unbolted. I forgot the engine stand so the engine and trans are still in the frame. All in all a good time Big94 came and helped(hung around) some :D. He made us laugh a little too :haha:. No progress pics but Rob may post the remains.

I picked up a crank pulley for my serpentine conversion and found a sport bumper that I will be going back for this Saturday. When I snagged the serpentine setup off a '92 at Butlers a month ago I forgot the extension for my 1/2" drive socket so I couldnt get the crank pulley off and when I went back the following weekend they had crushed the truck. The sport bumper at Kikers was guarded by a half dozen wasps so i hit the bolts with some PB Blaster and knocked off the nest as I ran for my life. Hopefully all will be quiet this weekend and I can pull it.

FYI there are 2 late '80s Burbs in the holding pen at Butlers. They have been sitting there for a month so im hoping they will hit the yard soon.

Here is a pic of the engine that im putting in the '80. Water pump is in the mail and after that it should be ready to install.
