Okay... Who is gonna step forward and be the ring leader for those of us in the North West? Who all, if any are planning on going?

As of now...........don't know. How's that for a commitment? That is right during Hood to Coast (run from Mt. Hood to Seaside for those not in the know) that is a major event for my wife and I.............and bowhunting opens that week too.........so that said, I haven't counted it out yet. Question is, will your beast be ready?

I'm in...lord knows what tRusty will look like when i go but I'll go if I have to carry the ugly beotch!http://coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

There are a lot of variables at this point. My wife and kids might want to come (unlikely) and if they do I'll be draggin down our 21 foot trailer. If I'm going solo then it'll be a utility tralier with parts and hopefully some gawdawful big trail tires...http://coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

As the time gets closer we should discuss a planned leave time and a place to meet depending on where you're coming from. I will hit Oregon near Pendleton on the I-84, there might be a somewhat conspicuous place to meet there...

if you come down I-82, you will pass right by me, pendtleton would be ok, the wild horse casino is just outside of there, i plan on taking off the 20th or 21st, give myself 2 days to travel, depends on how the wife feels, the map and directions says 923 miles from here to moab and 15 hours driving time, im goin for it :)

Plans vs. what I can afford are two different things...I'm working on a NV4500, planetary doubler (custom), into a NP205. I'm hoping to have a D60 up front by them as well. Dunno how much tire I'll have though...39+ would be ideal!

Time will tell...

i am in yakima, 140 miles east of seattle, about 35 miles from ellensburg, you might be ready for a pit stop by the time you get this far, if all goes well i will be ready to go, the hotel i work for just aquired the red lion chain from hilton and i get a discount on rooms, i have a list at work of where they are located and there are a couple in idaho that are on the route to moab, we can get this thing fine tuned as the time gets closer, i need some wheelin time before moab, maybe meet up someplace in the middle, mt baker area? index?even portland? i am pumped for this :) if you need a hotel room maybe i could just say you're my brother and get the discount :)

Count me in, I thought the first half assed plan was to wait for Rene to get down here and then convoy, anyone know if Shannon is going, and come on Frank if it's the jog you'll miss then you can always run back the half mile on the way to pick up the parts that fell off my truck and if its the venison then I got a whole freezer full and for god sakes somebody bring the convoy song on disc and we'll all talk on our CB's while we listen. http://coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I think the best bet is to ralley the troops in the Portland area. since most of them are in that area. Then catch I-84..who knows http://coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/tongue.gif I'm just throwing out ideas.

Hi everyone, I've been visiting this site for some time now and never thought to write. I went to my local 4Wheel parts store and struck up a conversation with "big red blazer" Who informed me of A moab trip!! So to cut things short, I do belive I will not only go to moab but all this talk of NW wheelers getting together also sounds great. I'll check beck with the baord later...maybe with some suggestions??(moab...or)

Rene, mind if I follow you down the road to Moab. I promise I won't hold you up in the hills. The utility trailer is yours for the trip if you need it. Just let me know. Also picked up some nice used 8.5"x16" forged wheels. Interested? Hows the 4500 going?

I have the NV4500 completely disassembled. cleaned and the case is painted. I'm just saving up a bit to buy the parts i need then it'll go back together!http://coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/cool.gif

I was just curious what mph this convoy is going to be traveling at? I don't know what the speed limit is in Utah, but I believe it is 75 in Idaho, 70 in Washington, and I know it's 65 in Oregon. Are you going to do the speed limit, the most economical, or the quickest? Just curious in case I decide to go.

Mike.

Like you Rene, I run about 60-65 while towing. Decided to keep wheels, mounted some new 315x75x16 (35x12.50x16)to them and really like the new look and ride. Looks like the wife's not going due to job requirements. keep me posted when you plan on heading south, would enjoy running down with a "convoy" of K5's. Besides, I might need a push over some of these long mountain passes.
