How big is Moab??? Is it small enough to walk around or is it a driving place???

Dude moab is a city like Cheyenne, or Seattle, or wherever. It's not just a "place"

It is fairly small. The pop is around 7000. If you park in the middle of town you can easily walk anywhere you need to go in town. Most of the camping is north and south of town so you will have to drive there but if staying in a hotel everything is close together.

Are you asking about the actual town? If so, then Butch summed it up pretty well. It's pretty small, though they have lots of visitors, so there are decent services (fuel stations, grocery stores, motels, etc.) There aren't any big department stores, so don't expect to stop at Walmart and pick up any last minute stuff. http://coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

If you're talking about the trails around Moab, they go for miles and miles. One of them is so long that you have to register with the ranger station before you go in, and let them know when to expect you to come out. This way, they know if they should go looking for you.... The brain cells are a bit foggy, but I think it's called the White Rim trail. It's something like 109 miles long, so it isn't a day trip. http://coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/wink.gif Many of the other trails in the area can easily be run in a day.

LOL!!! 7000 peeps is NOT a city...thats a "town" or a large "village." =p hell, damn near 7000 people used to live in my old housing development! ;)

A friend ran it in one day. Probably baja stlye, but much would be missed on white rim if you don't get out and walk now and then. It's beautiful country.

109 miles aint really that far. Pretty much a typical off road day trip for me. I like to explore. I'v driven across the entire northern part of my state (Nevada) from Utah to California The only time I saw pavement was when we had to run into a little town or bar to get gas and Beerhttp://coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/smile.gif.
One of these days I'm going to do a north -south offroad trip from Idaho to Arizona. That will be a long one.
