May have the chance to pick up a rear dana 60 out of a '71-'72 pickup with 4.10 gear ratio, pros and cons of this? any mods I need to know to swap into the '70..did they make a rear Dana 60 leaf spring axle in 2wd or were 2wd all coils?..that may kill this deal,I havent seen this yet just heard of its whereabouts couple hours ago and wanted some know- how before I go look at it..

As I understand it, if it is a semi-float Dana60 then it was coil sprung. If it's a full float it had leaf springs and was 3/4 ton 4x4. 2wd 3/4 and 1 tons had coil springs w/ eaton axles. Hope this gives you some place to start.

Some of the 2 wheel drives were leaf spring trucks. A friend of mine just pulled a D60 Full Floater out of his 1970 Camper special and replaced it with a 14B FF with disc brakes. So they are around. Good luck.

I have a D60SF under my K5.
I got mine out of a mid 70s GMC longbed 4x4 pickUp. The guy was puting Rockwells under it with like 12" lift/forums/images/icons/crazy.gif
You will have to look at it to answer your question. Seams like it could go eather way....
Good Luck
