With a 4" lift do I use 4 or 6 degree shims. Im using 4 now but have a kinda growl @ 40-60 mph when i let off the gas (kinda drive gear @ float). Have had the th350 & np205 rebuilt w/ new drive shafts (no cv @ rear)???

You really want the u-joints at both ends of the driveshaft to have the same amount of angle to minimize vibration (unless you are using a cv joint at the transfer case). You can use a cheap angle finder from Harbor Feight or Northern and place it on the differential flange by the yoke, and then on the transfer case near its yoke. The two angles should be within a degree or so of each other. This should tell you how much shim you need. Good luck. JT

I got my angle finder in the woodworking section of a regular hardware store (it was a Westlake in my area).
