sounds great i've been , viewing here for a while almost daily. but i don't post that often, i probably should post more cause all i think about during the day is my burb and all the things i can and will do to it, like the roll cage , or adding a 120 horsepower electric motor inline, or a third axle, its not like i'll do this stuff but thinking about it and designing it in my head is half the fun... lets get it going, i'd get into it...

I think a giant `window etching' sticker would look cool... you know, the semi-translucent stickers that you put on windows to make it look like its been etched? I've got a Crappy `FOX' sticker I need to peel off my tailgate window ( previous owner put it on, and I want it gone) and I'd love to replace it with a giant `CK5 Sub-Culture' banner or something... the 6 inch stickers should be cool too, stuck on the fender to mock the lil jeepers... I still have my fender emblems, and want to try and figgure out a way to work the logo into the emblem... wether its I knock the emblems off, put the sticker on, then replace the emblems, or something like that, I dunno...

oh well, something to think about I suppose,

Ddragggon
07-12-2002, 02:43 PM
yeah, usually you see little cutsie things like roses, or pony's done in it... the only problem I'd have with it, is my deep tinted rear window's wouldn't look right if I plastered it on them... of course, being deep tinted, white lettering ought to look pretty dang cool on the black background...

I think if you add an extra set of doors the sticker might end up being oval instead of round, which wouldn't be bad either. I've been slacking when if comes to getting the "It's a Wheelbase Thing" stickers made. Everytime I got to and event where there's a lot of jeeps I kick myself for not having the sticker on the back window yet.

THE ONLY DRAW BACK I SEE THE THE WINDOW THING IS ON BARN DOORS IT WOULDN'T LOOK TOO GOOD. NOT ONLY THAT IF YOU'VE EVER WHEELED AT NIGHT WITH TINTED GLASS OR EVEN CLEAR FOR THAT MATTER THESE THINGS ARE A PAIN TO SEE BEHIND IN BACKING SITUATIONS. REAR FLOOD LIGHTS INCLUDED. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif I WAS TEMPTED TO PUT IN ONE OF THOSE RV CAMERAS THEY GOT FOR REAR VIEW MIRRORS. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif I THINK THE FENDER STICKER WOULD BE THE BEST. EVEN WITH ANOTHER DOOR THE STICKER SHOULD STILL BE ABLE TO BE ROUND. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

i talked to jeff427, yall wanted big right? i asked him about a 36"x10" and it would be about $20 a piece! that's too much for one sticker! so if we get big banner stickers what size would we want them? http://coloradok5.com/albums/albun07/abj.sized.jpg i was thinking about the size of my big procomp sticker it's 32" by about 6".

I THINK A 8INCH ROUND FOR THE FENDER(I'LL BUY FOR SURE) AND THE PRO COMP STICK IS A GOOD SIZE FOR THE WINDSHIELD BANNER. I HAVE THE SAME STICKER ON MY WINDSHIELD AND IT CLEARS THE WIPERS SOME WHAT, PERHAPS ALITTLE SMALLER OR NARROWER UP AND DOWN. OTHERWISE THE WIPERS WILL TEAR IT AFTER A WHILE. ANY IDEAS FOR BARNDOORS YET? ANYONE????? /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I have a sollution for barn doors... tear them off, and replace them with a tailgate!

J/k :-P

not really... :-P

J/k...

or am I...

I am....

not...

J/k...

what you could do is get the large lettering stickers, cut in half, so you have CK5 SUB on one door, and CULTURE on the other ( make sure to get those in the right order... otherwise Culture CK5 SUB might come out of it..)

Don't make fun of the barn doors. Sometimes I wish I had those instead of the tailgate. It's hard to climb up there and open that dang thing! I couldn't imagine putting gear in the back of a sub with barn doors like I do with mine either.

Ddragggon
07-17-2002, 12:55 PM
I'll agree barn doors have thier places, and on a lifted suburban, they make more sense... the tailgate on mine comes almost up to my chest when I drop it, and I'm reasonably tall... I just can't stand that giant central blindspot called the door pillars that they come with. I also like the power tailgate option that lets me put the gate down for freeflow air ventalation at speed...

on the other hand, with a tailgate, you can pack them tighter without fear of having the entire thing puke out the back when you open a door... you've also got a convenient seat to have a Tailgate Party on, or enjoy lunch, or hold tools you pull out of the back, etc...

NOW BE NICE. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif BARN DOORS ARE NICE AND THE "BLIND" SPOT IS IRRELIVENT ONCE YOU LIFT A GOOD HEIGTH THEN THE WHOLE BACK IS A BLIND SPOT. /forums/images/icons/mad.gif AS FOR LOADING AND STUFF I CAN USE MY DROP HITCH AS A STEP AND I CAN LEAVE ONE DOOR CLOSED AND PACK TO THE ROOF. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif AND WITH MY NIFTY DOOR RELEASE I CAN USE IT AS AN ALTERNET DOOR FOR THIRD SEAT PEOPLE. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif AND I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE STUPID POWER WINDOW FAILING. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif LOL /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

last year, I gained some respect from the arizona people in my 73 K20... took it with them on a moderate trail... took me almost no effort to go anywhere they did. I also bombed up some `impossible hill' that jeepers couldn't make, because thier wheelbase was too short to go over the bumps right... I also did it in 2wd...

oh well, I love my truck, and always tell jeepers `when you break down, we can pick that up, and put it in the back... aircondition it for the trip home'

I'm all for the Sub Club......size matters!

As for the barn doors...I was in favor of them until I bought a Burby with them. I wanted a Sub with barn doors over tailgate, because everyone I know with a Burby or Blazer, the power window doesn't work, or they have broke the window off road.

Well then my Burby came with barn doors, that are in bad shape.....really bad. I priced new ones and they $699 each. Now I wish I had a tailgate. I only paid $1500 for the truck, I don't need two doors costing as much as the truck.

I'm in I would get a couple stickers also. I'm starting to run out of room on the barn door windows. Time to switch to a tailgate.
