CK5 - The Full-Size GM Off Road Community

hey all i just bought an 86 suburban with a 350 and O.D. tranny the old 208 case is junked and the guy gave me an np 205 case but i have no idea how to swap them or what i need or need to change out to do it.
is there anyway to use the 205 or do i have to buy another 208?
anyone?

The 205 won't bolt to your 700-r4, so either you buy or rebuild a 208. Or switch to a th400 auto or the sm465 standard transmission.. but trust me go with the 205 you'll be much better off.... good luck

you actually should be able to put the 205 on the 700R4. the 700r4 uses the same adadptor as the TH350, so if you can find a 350 adaptor, the 700r4 should bolt right up to it. you might want to double check with someone else on this, but I'm pretty sure it'll work out fine.
