Yeah you'll probably have to put up with me some now. I dont know if I'll get my truck up here asap, it may be a few months for that, but I've got a few little projects I can bring and work away on in the garage! I'm moving to Batavia, just west of chicago. A little far north of you, but once I get my stuff together and get a trailer and all, I'll be able to go on some weekend trips and stuff. Thanks for the offer, i might have to take you up on that!

I take it you havent seen my blazer in a while....it's going to take some solid engineering to fit ANY type of top on my k5...although, maybe a 2nd gen top shortened with a bikini top to cover the front and half/canvas doors would get me by. Then I could just use the bikini top the rest of the year!!!

Hey Bryan,
Congrats on the job. I am looking for work too, and may end up in Chicago after all. I grew up there and my relatives are all there still. Dowtown Chicago, and Aurora. The wife and I visit them a few times per year. I'll look you up and we can visit a few bars /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Stay in touch.

Welcome to IL, I'm in Momence, near Kankakee. Give me a shout in the spring and we can go down Attica. I say spring, cause my truck should be done by then. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Congrats man! Glad to hear you have made your decision. When do you expect to be coming up? Have you found a home here yet? Hope your wife was able to make arrangements at her school.
AGAIN, let me know if you need anything. I am within 30-45 minutes from Batavia, and would be more than happy to help with anything you need.
Congrats and Welcome!

Well as of Saturday, I'm a yankee right now. Never thought I'd say that....but I like it here. Way different than anything I've experienced before, but I accept the challenge! And the job is very different from what I expected too. We found a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath townhouse with a full basement and one car garage. Not optimum, but I'm going to try to get some light fab done there. You do what you can afford I guess, and just didn't have the down payment to buy right now, and also didn't have the guts to quit K5s cold turkey and just go for a garageless apt. Anyway, I think I can do some sort of minor fab to the blazer while i'm here....hoping maybe someone local can hook me up on a weekend strip/swapathon....hint hint....
Anyways, just wanted to sorta update yall.
And Dan, I'll be calling you ASAP.
Bryan
