I think all of is the midwest should pick a night and time each week that we all try to get into chat. It would be great to be able to do this, we could help eachother out and find out whats been going on and whats cummin up. What you all think of this idea?

I agree 10pm or so would be great, now we just need a night. Why dont we just have eveybody tell their best night and then we could get this going!! I would say wed. would be my vote.

most any night works, we could just say every night at 10 pm on AIM and then pick a main night to try and get us all on

We've already done this to some extent on a few occasions, and its worked pretty well. We always have a blast! Normally we use AIM (AOL instant messenger (http://aim.aol.com/aimnew/NS/congratsd2.adp)) to chat.
My screen name is DANZBIGK5, check me out any time! I am ALWAYS online.

I don't have AIM, and kinda refuse to use it. ICQ and Yahoo.

I don't know about AIM, but msn and icq can do multiple people chat sessions, just thought i would throw that out /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Are we ever going to pick a date and time? We could always create our own chat room within Yahoo. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I dont have any problems with the CK5 chat, but I dont use it alot, I use MSN instant messanger or I have an old ICQ account, it might still work.
I just dont like AOL, its like a virus. Once its on your comp you cant get rid of it. I specifically ordered my new comp and told the I wanted nothing to do with AOL on it. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

How about we go with Wednesday Nights at 10:00 PM?
KRAZIE87K5
01-31-2003, 09:24 AM
You can install JUST the AIM client, without the rest of the AOL non-sense Matt. It might put a shortcut to an AOL install on your desktop (which you can delete right away), but other than that, its all okay. I use it on EVERY PC I own... thats about 5-6 machines last time I counted! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wednesday nights sounds good to me. Are we going to use K5 chat?
Now far as AIM goes, once you install AIM it takes a lot to remove it from your computer. AIM likes to go in and write over important reg keys /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif and make windows run like crap /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif. From one K5er to all other K5ers, don't use AIM or AOL for that matter. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Of all the Chat's we could use I vote for AIM I will never install that Microsoft thing or ICQ on anything I own I spend to much time during the day removing all 3 and trust me AIM is the easyest to remove and does best install. THis coming from some one that thincks AOL is just a big VIRUS still waiting for the day Norton flags it as a virus. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

AIM does that? You want to talk about nasty IM clients, lets talk about MSN... I am in the PC support biz as well, and I've never had problems with AIM. I've got it on all my XP boxes, and its great. There are other CK5ers out here that are in PC support and run it as well...
Not to rain on your parade, but I don't agree. Furhtermore, where do you get the idea that AIM slows down an operating system? I’d like to see more info on that… just be sure to use CURRENT versions of the AIM client, and all is well.
Chat with everyone soon!

How about this Wednesday at 10:00 pm Central time. Where do you want to meet? Using AIM or CK5?
Those of you who do not want to install AIM, can access it through AIM Express. Check AOL site for more info.

Cool I'm orange now. I use windows messenger "Stroked72Blazer" or ICQ #38607181 I prefer ICQ myself and am in the same boat as it apears most are. AOL can go drive a J**p.

Alright, alright...I downloaded AIM and now have it operational. It only took about 12min on my dial-up. I am in "testing" phase with this stuff....any pop-ups or other crap and it's GONE! It really doesn't seem too bad at this point- except for the damn sound effects. As I had my Godsmack cd spinnin', Scot came online and a "door opening" sounded.....'bout jumped outta my seat.....sounded powerfull with the subwoofer hooked up. Needless to say, I went in and shut ALL sounds off!!
