3/4 ton with TV and VCR. 88000 miles. I just hope the 700R4 can handle towing the blazer!

It looks like it will be a fine set up. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Just make sure to move the whitewalls in. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Unless you are going to use them as a guage for the parking lot @ Force's. Mud up to here, Don't go near. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Are you sure its a 14 bolt? In my 3+ years of changing tires part time Ive never seen one with a 5 lug semi floater. That and Im not so sure a van would be a good tow vehicle for a blazer. Just my opinion.

The 454SS Trucks from the early 90's had the 5 Lug 9.5". Might just need to stifen the rear susp. to help stop sway. And keep the tranny out of OD. Should be fine.

Looks good man. 350 or 305? Does it have a tranny cooler?
If not, get one on before you hook up to any trailer. See ya there.

Three things you need to add!
-tranny cooler
-sway and torsion bars from hitch to trailer
-Electric brakes

I might even spend the extra $200 and go for air bags. I've not had great luck in 1/2tons pulling blazers, there's a fine line between to far up on the trailer and to far back.
You may have more problems since its a short wheel base vehicle also. If I where to have a pull vehicle it would be a extended 3/4 ton van with a 454! You should see my buddies van that he pulls a FS race van on! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Factory 454 1ton Chevy Van (ex government truck)! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Actually I am not going to get the van...Its only rated at 7000 lbs MAX towing capacity. Plus they are not budging on the price...at all. I have my eye on a couple of dually's. One is a chev 3500 and one an F350. Both 2WD. I cant believe how much the 4WD dually's go for!

Just have to convince the wife that we really NEED a 15,000 truck.... /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

Just tell her that you are saving 30K over a new one. After all, it isn't how much you spend, It is how much you SAVED. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif That is the BS that I alway hear. Until I put it back on her. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If yould be interested, my father-in-law has a nice 87 Sub for sale. Its a 2wd 3/4 ton. TBI454/th400. The trans was just rebuilt about 2-3 weeks ago. Its pretty clean, has a few rust spots maybe quarter size. Power everything, ac, rear power window (tailgate) still works good. I think he is wanting about $3-4K. I can take pics if youre interested.
