I would like to have some advice of all the CB specialists.
I do know that the very best positioning for a CB antenna is in the centre of the metal roof part.
Also some prefer the bumper mount for the antenna.

On our spare tire carriers, we have the possibility to install the CB antenna on the highest point behind the spare tire. This way, the antenna comes above the roof level.
The swinging part does have very good ground contact via the bearings in the hinge part, and via the lock and extra lock.
My question, should I put an extra ground strap between the swinging part and the bumper ?

For the roof rack that we soon start selling.
This roof rack will only cover the metal part of the cabine, not the hardtop part.
I plan to have two antenna mounting brackets on the rear of this rack, one can be used for radio or cell phone, and the other for the CB antenna.
Since the antenna would have good ground contact on the rack, but the rack would have rubber between the mounting points rack to roof, should it be needed to install an extra ground strap ?
Would this position of the antenna on the rack give a good reception ?

I hope some of you can help/advice me on this.

Naa no problem mounting it back there, and for all that want an atenna on the rear like that I would suggest using a fiberglass type like firestick of wilson fiber! They are top loaded so the first two feet of the atenna is not used by the cb signal.
I use the wilson fiber 5' stick on my tire rack and also have a 250w boot and I have no issues with it baing back there.

Take a look at your setups, and if there is any possibilty of contamination from dirt, rust or anything else that would interfere with a continuous good ground, I would add a strap.

The only problem with a roof rack is the height. The antenna will have to face the wind head on and its very easy to nail trees and damage it. The most practical spot is using a fender channel mount. It has a good ground and is easy to get to to adjust. Dual antennas on a Blazer is not adivisable because they will usually be less than 9 feet apart and mess up there radiation patterns if they are cophased. If they are running different radios or a phone or if you want an extra dumby one to look cool, its fine. Good Luck
