White Knight,
All Texas K5er's are invited to the "Slab". The slab is a huge formation of large areas of Granite that the Llano river runs through. Beautiful scenery and good terrain for off roading.
It's in Kingsland Texas.
Here is the Url http://128.83.80.200/taco/otherslab.html
You are more than welcome along with any other that would like to join us.
This way we can plan well in advance, do any mod's to our trucks etc.
We K5'ers in the Austin area would like to organize a club that would make frequent trips to other areas to plan off roading trips.
Please forward us your email.. so we can possibly put together a "mailing list" if you will to inform others of upcoming planned runs.
Oh.. and the "Slab" is completely Free !!! and legal.
Check out the url.. and check our sites since we'll be adding pics from our trip this past weekend.

ALRIGHT! We are thinking of maybe camping out that night. anyone else up for it? It maybe a lil cold, but if get a camp fire going and put some tents up shouldn't be too bad. We have an area in mind, just have to check out and make sure its ok with the owners... It will be a free spot.

Ok, we are set to have a pretty big camping spot right on the lake... Should be plenty of room for everyone that wants to stay. If you want to bring a camper instead of tents, no problem there either... Ok who's in?

We had considered going Sunday the 28th, but the Superbowl is happening that day.
If I remember correctly, the last 2 times we went were both Sundays.

If we plan another run on a Sunday, will you be able to make it? How about we plan on a Sunday Run mid February?

Rocko,
There is about 5 or 6 of us from the club I'm in (Midnight Four Wheelers) that are planning a trip that same day. We're planning on leaving San Antonio around 6:30a.m. Saturday. Is there a time that you're planning to be at the river by, because we would like to know?

We want to start as early as possible.. We aren't an organized club (yet) we'd like to be hopefully in the near future. Maybe we could meet up and discuss how you guys arranged your club. And do some wheeling.
We plan on camping out the night before and meeting people around 9:00 am !! Sound good ?
Should be around 12 or so Blazers going out that day.. and maybe more.
Look forward to talking with you more.. email me for any other questions.. ctrock98@Hotmail.com

Ok, time is closing in on us. Looks like a pretty good turn out. Who's camping over the weekend? We have plenty of room, just trying to gage the space needed. Anyone need directions to where we are camping at? SLAB? Let me know. I will get it to you asap.

Yea ....... where is this place you call the "SLAB" anyhow? http://www.coloradok5.com/forums/images/icons/wink.gif .... hehehe

It looks like I'll be cutting it pretty close with all the suspension work I will be doing the week before, but it should be up and running come the 27th.

Probably be stuck in 2WD due to mismatched gear ratios, but I'll be there anyway!

I probably won't be camping out, but I will most likely hang out after the sun goes down. It's only an hour from my house anyway ...........

We're camping on a piece of land about 5 minutes from the Slab. On lake Buchanan. Cheri's paren't own the property and it's pretty roomy.
We haven't made it to far at the Slab.. So you could show us the route you take.. I'm sure we missed alot each time we were there. Sound good?

I've been there twice, once as a ride along the other in my wife's Jeep, so it's all still new ground for me. I'm sure it'll be a great adventure for all of us. All we have to do is watch for posted signs so we won't be on anyone's property.

Hey where is the slab? How would you rate it between a 1-5 (1 being easy 5 being extreme). Just wondering because I would like to possibly get a couple of my fourwheel'n buddy's togather and head that way with you guys in a couple of months or so. I think its great to get so many people togather at one time, plus I'm getting way bored with the offroading up here. Its just not a challenge anymore.

4GUNZ4x4Z, The "slab" is right outside of Kingsland, TX About an hour NE of Austin. You can make it as extreme as you want. There are easy trails and then there are the "you've got to be insane", like Stoop to try. LOL Just kidding Stoop. There was a big write up in 4 wheel parts wholesalers mag for Jan. Check it out if you get a chance. The more Blazers, the better.
Hope to see you sometime.
