I was thinking about getting a firestik to mount on the mirror and was wonderin' if having two antennas increases performance?

No it won't. Two ant. equal two power splitting devices. One antenna equals all the power going through one device.

The post stating it being more directional is correct, but it will not work on a Blazer. The problem is that the antennas are to close and it interfers which each others radiation pattern, the minimum distance should be 9 feet. If you have only one hooked up and the other there as a dummy to look cool, it'll work.
