Thought I would try this forum.
Installed my Shackle Flip but the brackets interfere (cover) the forward frame holes used by the factory hitch.
I dont want to cut the flips and dont know if I should try (or can) re-mount it a few inches farther out.
Is there a better hitch to use which has shorter mounting points?
Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just used a piece of plate the same thickness as the flip to space the rear down. Then drilled through the shackle flip. Not sure if this is what your looking for but it's one solution.

I thought about that, hated to drill thru the flip yet cant see drilling another 4 holes on the frame either. I dont know if all the hitches are setup for that hole spacing where I have to drill thru the flip.
Thanks for info /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

never thought of drilling and spacing. i decided to take the cutoff saw to the brackets. it was kind of painful cutting a 2x2 square out of 200 bucks of brand new hardware, but i decided that it wouldnt sacrifice strength. getting all the bolts in together was tricky, i ended up flipping the hitch bolts upsidedown to make room for the bracket bolts.good luck

There's nothing quite like cutting up a brand new part! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
