*** ok, so i filled it up and did my in town calcs. came out to 8.55 MPG. keep in mind it is a new toy and i have been on the gas a bit more than i normaly will, or so i hope.
then i drove to riverside CA. 229 miles. 10.15 MPG. now, i drove from yuma to N. Camp pendleton area doing about 75mph the whole way. (empty) then from there to riverside doing abuot 80 to 85. and was getting passed...
so im sure if i would have kept it at 75 then i would have been about 10.5MPG.

got a 1996 k3500. dually extended cab, leather, ac, power everything, towing mirrors, air gate. new tires. loaded.
110k miles 454, auto. the previous owner did everything on time or early. im the second owner. had a 5th wheel setup at one time. gonna put a gooseneck in.

the main reason i bought it now? well, if i sell most the crap i got that i dont need then i can move the blazer and garage contents along with the little house stuff i have all in one trip. not get a uhaul, and make EXTRA MONEY!!
money is good, money in excess is better. then i also have a tow rig for if i ever finish the blazer.

ill get a picture of it as soon as i cen.

I hear ya on not rentin a Uhaul. For a truck from Denver to Austin was $1000 for the rental fee alone(not counting mileage charges, fuel and the damn 55mph governor and other crap) Congrats on der dually!
