I'm down close to the water in Mobile, who's next?

I'm just north of B'ham. About 3 miles from the trails in Gardendale and just a little further away from the trails in Mt. Olive.
I used to live in Mobile, about 4 or 5 years ago. First I lived off of Old Shell between Hillcrest and Schillenger. Then I moved into mid-town off Government on St. Catherine Street near the old Delchamps. Just writing this makes me miss "Butch Cassidy's".

Do you ever go to the truck show at the Sonic on Moffett Rd. (3rd Sat of the month @ 4:00)?
Maybe we could meet up sometime and swap lies about our trucks. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

The show on Moffet is strictly trucks. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif I have heard a rumor it may move as the Sonic mgt has changed again. Well atleast for the weekend.. The wife and kids and I are coming home this up coming weekend. Somebody post up and try to come up with a place to meet that is good for everybody and we can get to know our fellow ALABAMA K5ER'S. Just a thought. How does some where in Birmingham sound? Or maybe Auburn. Both are about an hour from me but it's pretty much central for everybody else. I'll run it through the wife and hopefully we'll know for sure what everybody wants to do. Just a thougth guys. Later....:D:D

Oh there is a member there in Wetumpka too. I haven't had a chance to meet him yet.

Speakin of flying over things. There is a TV tower near Bonifay that we flew over whe I was doing instrument training. It is a 2000' tower and we over flew it by only a couple hundred feet. The closetst I have ever come to a tower. Thought my buddy was going to fly right into(I was backseatin it). Bad part is, is that he had all his vision restricted so he couldn't see out of the cockpit. the Instructor Pilot didn't think a thing about it. Me, I was a little worried.

Now fella's I said I go to Auburn, I didnt say anything about being a fan of the place. I'm one of those irritating guys whose not into football that much so I'm for either team until they play each other, then I lean to Bama cuz that's what I was raised on. It is easy to cheer for a team that wins consistently (such as Auburn) though. Anyway, football's not my thing, I'm a hockey player and fan. Heck, I don't even buy my student tickets. Plus my bachelor's is from Troy so I'm really a Trojan fan.
And, thanks for the compliments on the truck. It's a 90 model with over 180000 on it that I've had since December and it's only stranded me once down in Dothan.

Well, I'm in Atlanta, and originally from Knoxville (Maryville) Tennessee. But I figured I'd have to step up and represent Dad's hometown of Fort Payne, AL. I get over that way every so often to visit Dad's grave and see my uncle and cousins. I've always dug that small town.
I was living near Birmingham for a while in a little nothing of a town called Odenville. It's North of Leeds and Moody on Hwy. 411. They don't have any redlights or 4-way stops. They got a Jack's (shudders at the thought) and a Piggly Wiggly just a few years ago (like after Y2K) :haha:

Maybe it's just that I didn't grow up with them around me. I was like 21 or 22 the first time I saw one...never could like any of their food, but that was abuot 8 years ago. I may like it now.
I also never understood why everyone in the area seemed to be doing backflips over Milo's. I tried twice to eat a burger from there. I got 1/2-way through the first time, but only because someone bought it for me without my knowing, and I was trying to be nice. Their tea is good though. They sell that stuff over here in convenience stores.
I will be the first to admit that I'm picky with fast food joints. There's no middle ground with me for some reason. Either I like 'em or really, really hate 'em.

Stay where you are. There isn't jack in these parts. It is all flat and not a rock for many miles. The whole area is sand or dirt and I have yet to find a trail worthy of being called a trail. Oh yeah, I won't be comming up to Campbell. Got orders for Ft Hood, again. Enjoy your time in Rucker.
