allright, I've only got a few more things to do, and the suburban will be complete with a 454.

since I'm using exhaust manifolds from a different year 454, the flanges didn't quite line up, and I ended up stripping 2 of the bolt holes out, so here's me in my dirty glory running some heli coils in.

800 Lbs of iron floating an ungodly height in the air.

Deeper! HARDER! or something like that.

Ready to fire, except for a starter, and the fact the torque converter on the TH350 doesn't lineup with the holes in the flexplate. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Dang that's sexy!

Someday I'll get there too, right now I'm working on the 1 ton driveline.

Where'd you do the swap at, nice big garage there!
And that's the best hoist for doing swaps like that. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Check out the SFI approved flexplates from Summit. They have dual patterns to fit either converter size. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

So far, so good... All I need to do now, is get a better accelerator cable (one that's the right length so I can open the secondaries). Yesterday, I rigged up a stronger return spring, which helps prevent one from speeding, by making the gas pedal harder to press....

After I get paid monday, I plan to get the exhausr adjusted, so all that sound exists through a pair of flowmasters.... Mmmm....

Oh yes. Just ran the first tank of gas out. Getting 9 mpg right now. Now that I have the damn thing tuned, I ought to be able to get 11 mpg or so, possibly more. Not bad for almost 400 horsepower.
