Ok, it a 83 k30 4-linked with unimogs. The kicker is the motor is mounted backwards in the frame about midship, now evrything turn backwards we thought we could fix it by turning a div.mount t-case backwards and mounting it in the front of the truck and running it to another one directly under the tranny.WRONG because with the t-cases backwards there is no output for the front axle.Plan two was to mount another case under the tranny facing the the right way behind the one moounted backwards giving you an out put for the front and the rear still it tuns backwards so now the plan is to swap portals from left to right to get the truck to go the right direction without getting a drop box made $$$$$.any other ideas???

Run a shaft from the output of your transmission to a boat v-drive. Then a short shaft back to the middle of the truck to a divorced t-case mounted like normal and then shafts to the axles. The V-Drive reverses the rotation direction.

Couldn't you simply grind the shift rails on a NP205 for independant front and rear output?

Might be easiest to modify the axles. Any other way would get complicated and create more breakage points.

it appears that his problem is that the rear output of the T-case which is the now front ouput with the reversed drive train. is that it is rotating the wrong way or is it too far off center cause clearance problems? We need pics too.

Run the engine backwards. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif Check out the reverse rotation marine engines listed here:

no workie
then you have to find an automatic that works backwards. or if running a standard remove all the gears from the shafts and install them backwards to get the helical cuts going the right way. the best way is the v drive off a 2wd tranny into a t case.
easiest way in my eyes as well.

I also agree on the v-drive. Get a casale v-drive box and be done. They can hold alot of hp stock, and can be modified to hold well over 2,000 hp.( I run one in my boat, and my motor is installed backwards)

OK, I am going to go out on a limb here and ask WHY? WHy mount the engine like that in the first place and cause all these headaches?

It's the latest craze! Putting the engine in the back makes for excellent visibility out of the front.

Next it will be electric motors at each corner and a small generator to keep the batteries charged. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

I'd like to make a mid engine setup, so you can sit all the way in the front. Would make for one short rear shaft though.

I like the idea of being able to actually drive upside down, kinda like one of those cheap R/C cars.
