It looks like a decent deal. I prefer not to go with deckover axle trailers my self, just to keep the COG lower when towing. Other than that, check to see if it has a bulldog coupler. The price may not be competitive in other areas, but it's about right for where I live, maybe even a little high.

Looks like a pretty good deal. I would also say to get a Bulldog adjustable hitch setup.

I was thinking the same thing..
Last year...
we pulled my rig with a between the wheel trailer...
It was just a pain to drive over the fenders..

Do you think I'll get that much more wind resistance??

Not sure exactly how much more wind resistance you would get, but I have noticed a difference towing with different height trailers in similar conditions.

Just get some heavy duty fenders you can drive over, then loading is a breeze. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif 1/8" steel would do with some bracing, and 3/16" would be optimum and still not be too heavy. There's a local shop in my area that makes some flat "jeep" style trailer fenders for $100. They work great. There might be something similar in your area, or maybe you can get some fenders made and then have the trailer shop weld them in.

We debated the same things before my trailer was built. Originally it was only going to be used for hauling the blazer, but now we use it more for hauling cars and junk than the blazer. There's no way a car would fit on the deck over we were going to make without a big dovetail and some LONG ramps.

For wind resistance, having the towed Blazer another 12" higher would make a significant difference, and the faster you go the more of a difference it will make.

For my low-deck trailer, I simply stacked 3 wood 4x4s on top of each other, bolted them together, cut them to shape to match the fenders, and then ran 1 lag bolt through the fender to hold them. These ramps can be removed with one bolt if needed and when the back tires pulls up against them the weight distribution is perfect. I originally was planning on this being temporary but it works so well I will probably keep it as-is. When camping season rolls along I am going to run 2x6 boards to make a little basket in between the fenders and haul my firewood in there.

diamond plate deck 98" wide/82 between the wheels
with channel drive-on fenders..

im having my trailer built next week. will take about 3 weeks.

26 foot long, no dove tail, 12klbs in axles. with a gooseneck a deck over is nto as big of a deal. especialy since i dont have a windo in my blazer.

im getting it and the brake controller, hitch installed for about 4500.00.

It's 18' with a 2' dovetail.

Yours is nice too, much nicer than mine. Oh well, mine gets the job done, and I paid 1300 for my 7500 lb 16' new...

That's a good deal considering the mods to the trailer, and the dual brake axles. Post some pics when you get it if you can.

I talked to folks at Kaufman trailers the other day (in NC), and they quoted me $2625 for a 18' + 2' dove, wood deck, two 5200 axles with brakes and a spare tire. But no drive on fender.

FWIW, Dan's been driving over his cheapo stock fenders for a year now, but they're starting to look kinda beat down, especially after I slid on them loading my truck by myself in a snowstorm. However, some redneck in Arkansas gave him a set of drive over fenders which should get installed this spring.
