Well I've seen some where the pulley is part of the damper, but I don't know if that's specific to LT1, LS6 or something else.

I have been wondering if I could convert to serpentine without losing my crank position sensor (which is on the damper)

The very early 283's had the pulley riveted to the harmonic balancer but every other SBC up until at least the production of the LS series engines had a bolt on pulley. What engine do you have?

Sorry, I need to Hijack. but When I put mine in I took out the A/C compressor. I can not find out where to get the pulley that goes in place of it, does anyone know where to get one?

Ok, a bit off topic, but along the same lines. Will the serp setup from a 4.3 work on a older 350? The reason I ask is that I have the 92 Astro I am stripping, the engine is going into the 94 I have, so I have a complete serp setup out of the other van. It is the newer nicer aluminum brackets, but it still keeps the AC compressor on the DS, and doesn't have AIR pump provision which I no longer have on the Blazer. I just want to make sure that keeping this stuff around is worth it, I love the serp setups, just want to make sure it is going to work.

Yes it will work. The 4.3 and all SBC V/8's are the same on the front. The 87 and later heads do have one extra hole in the ends of the heads but it will still work.

I have a Goodwrench 350 with 8" damper. The ones I'm thinking of must be LS-series engines, then. Good to know. I have the triple V-belt pulley now.

Cool, thanks Scott. Guess I will just have to add to the pile of parts that is growing in the storage shed.
