Why would someone want a single shot shotgun?

I had a guy ask me over email if I had any single shot shotguns or cheap .22's.

I said I had a break action single shot 12 guage I would sell/trade, and he said he definately wanted it.
Then he said he's an old man that can't get around much and wants me to meet him somewhere with it, and we'll talk about trading some highly in demand ammo he has.

I got this single shot because it was antique, and since then I've lost interest in it altogether, and anything single shot except a precision rifle.

So why would an old man that has mobility trouble want a single shot shotgun?
His reasons are none of my business, really, but if he plans to only need to fire the gun once for something, I'm wondering if I shouldn't ask.

But, many old men have grandkids, and I can see wanting to teach a youngin how to shoot with only one round at a time. He did ask for a .22 also.
I'm just wondering what other reasons there might be for someone to want a single shot shotgun.
Just because is fine as a reason, too. I want lots of guns I can't provide a logical reason for wanting...

Thoughts from the brotherhood?

i like single shots, especially old ones. (actually, i've never met any gun i didn't like no matter how many shots or how old).

i have 2 single shot shotguns. my grandmothers old savage .410 and an uncles old 12 ga. they're lighter, which makes them point quicker, so they're great for shooting skeet. i especially love taking the .410. the old guys w/ their $10-20k custom perazzi and kreighoff trap guns freak out when you walk up to the line w/ a smaller bore gun. they automatically think you're some unknown ringer (i'm not but i am a naturally good shot). they really flip out if you beat them.

although i haven't been small game hunting in years (no place left here in nj) i do like hunting w/ a single shot too. they're lighter, easier to carry, quicker to point. and i like the idea that i only have 1 shot. i think it makes you concentrate more and makes you a better shot.
