Paint code for \"Military Olive Drab\"? - PPG, DuPont....Rustoleum?

Curious if anyone knows the actual paint code for the Olive Drab color, and if it's available through normal paint suppliers like PPG or DuPont.

If it's available in rattlecans, that might be nice to know too.... Now that I hear there are going to be camera crews in Moab for BlazerBash, I'm thinking of a "quick & dirty" paintjob! I'm still not sure on a color.....but I do like the looks of some of the Military Green ones I've seen pics of....

So you are going to have your Blazer the same color as mine? Are you going to put the white stars on the doors too I don't know where I am going to get the paint yet but I am going to try and find the "real" stuff (ie militaty surplus).

Try some of the places listed at the bottom of this page

Dan,

I guess MOST guys have a strong opinion about what color their Blazer should be.....I don't.

Most other cars, or whatever....I always have a "favorite color"...but for some reason, I just can't think of anything that seems "right" for this 1st Gen. I don't want to use a "modern" color, since that would seem out of place....and the factory colors from those years aren't all that interesting either.

My wife acutally LIKES the "matte finish" of the primer that's on it now.....which got me thinking about an olive green color....since most are sort of a "flat finish" too. Plus, I figure if I don't like it, and the paint was cheap enough....I could just strip it down and repaint it with some thing else later on.

The nice thing about olive drab, is that all the accessories can be BASIC-BLACK and they look good.

If ya wanna go low budget, I saw some camo-color rattle cans at Walmart recently.

Burt,

If you look at the Jeep restoration on that site, he documents all the parts bought.....and all the paint supplies came from here:

RAPCO Parts Company
c/o Mark Dodd
PO Box 91
Bowie, TX
tel 940-872-2403
fax 940-872-3406

That might be as far as you need to search...........
