What does a Dana 70 Rear and Dana 60 front from a Kaiser Jeep worth?

Just curious.. I have lead on these.. what should I expect to pay?
These are off a Jeep Kaiser rated at 1 1/4 ton axles.
The front dana 60 is a closed knuckle type .. would I be able to convert to standard steering knuckles w/ Ball joints?

And would the rear mount up to my Blazer? I know I'd have to cut and move the spring perches..

Thanks ... need some guru guidance.

Re: What does a Dana 70 Rear and Dana 60 front from a Kaiser Jeep worth?

First the front...

You will not be able to change the knuckles at least not economically. You would have to obtain another dana60 front, cut the knuckles off of both and then weld the good ones on yours, but why do all that if you have a dana 60 with the good ones, see what I'm saying? or did that come out all confusing like. heheh

The rear...
I don't know much about the Kaiser but I would guess it is about the right width. Just measure your current rear from wheel flange to wheel flange and then measure (or ask for the measurement if it's to far away) the Dana70. You may even get lucky like I did and not have to change the mounts.

u can buy just the knckles from dana<and other sources> still so no u wouldnt have to cut up another d60 , but it might not be woirth it cuz im sure they are xpensive unless u get a killer deal in the axles themselves. on the no idea ....

I wouldn't even think twice about buying these axles. But if someone were to give me some, then I would still sell them back out right away, cheap.

Re: What does a Dana 70 Rear and Dana 60 front from a Kaiser Jeep worth?

Personally I wouldn't mess with trying to put them under a Blazer. The rear Dana 70 is offset to the side and only has 23 spline axle shafts. You would either have to swap in some sort of transfer case with a matching offset output or deal with the extra driveshaft angle. The 23 spline shafts are not as strong as a more modern 70 or 14-bolt. The front 60 has drum brakes and is closed knuckle which means quite a bit of fabrication to at least get disk brakes in the front. I'm not sure what size the axle shafts are right off hand. The next problem is they have an odd-ball military wheel bolt pattern which means either use the stock split ring military rims that require tubes or custom rims.

They're worth $23 per ton if you take 'em to the junkyard.

IIRC they have the same outers as the newer D44. 19 spline with the 297 u-joint. I'm with Harry...$23 a ton sounds like a fair deal.
